I could use some help with my flex2 theme. I have widgets showing up on the blog, and under wp-admin widgets, there are none showing, and when I try to add a widget on right/left side, it does not show, it just replaces what is there. how can I fix this to properly show widgets? Thanks
Hi, I run across this also. Add the widgets from your admin panel in the same areas that they are showing up. For instance if it's Catagories add that one again. This usually occurs in the lower right a left sidebars. Also in this area add like "TAGS" and calender. Clear your cache and refresh. You should be able to go back and delete and place the widgets the way you'd like then. Not sure why this happens initially but after that you should be good to go. Hope this helps.
LOL? CAche? God, The Theme is Coded to show the default Widgets, incase there are no other widgets... Using If tags, if you know what that means!! How is related with the browser cache and why to refresh? LOL? ~ExP~
Feeling sarcastic are we? Have you even used this theme? Even when making change to the admin area you can look on your site and often they won't show up immediately. P.S. It never hurts to clear your cache anyway for various reasons. Although, they may not be directly related to changing the admin area of a Theme. And....I did specify to use the admin area might want to read a little better.
LOL? Just To See the End Result? Then You Should Say It SO I thought, WE Need a Cache Clear to Edit the Theme LOL No Worries... Sorry!! ~ExP~
Random sarcastic guy aside... As a rule themes will have a default setup for sidebars. It means users who only need the basics like categories and pages (or whatever the theme author has coded into the sidebar) won't need to fiddle around with widgets, they can just install the theme and go. They disappear when you add a widget because the theme assumes you're taking control. If you want to recreate the default setup but add more then just use the widget screen to recreate it, this is "as intended". It's a good system if you think about it, it won't break if you add none but it won't get in the way when you add lots
