Thats because it is the bump time for everyone.you make the bump time to a week and we will have everyone bumping and your thread will be pushed back.if its high then it will automatically start dying.adsense cpc increases by ten times.then the ratio will be adjusted in such a manner that you will find your earnings the same after some time.just a lame example.

Yes, actually everyone would agree with it. There is a need of decreasing the limit is because the thread get's buried way down in the given days right now.

You lower the limit for everyone, and then everyone is bumping their threads more often and YOUR thread gets buried just as quickly. The only solution is to make the bump time lower for YOU (could be anyone here), but not for anyone else. :)

That is also a point. :) But, that is why there is a gap made between Premium member's bump time and regular members bump time. There would be around 6 - 8 premium members thread in a section and others would be regular members only. And also there are many regular members who aren't using this feature as well. :)

    Shawn,

How about giving other users the ability to use their own bump to bump other people's threads?

Yes, I could see where it could go wrong if the author didn't want it bumped, so you could do it where a PM gets sent:

That is a good suggestion, there are many members who just don't use this feature. But, there can be abuse of it too. Like, members start creating duplicate accounts for this thing? :)

lol. Helvetii's getting a bit impatient. Well I think this will be quite a long discussion.

As for the PM feature, members will just PM spam anyway so it's quite useless if their PM rights gets disabled if they send too much PM. I'd say we stick to what we have right now. I know it may be beneficial (and sweet) for premium members but it is just because DP still has low amounts of premium members ATM. Say if the population of PreMems gets high then there would a lot of PreMems just bumping almost all of their threads in the marketplace and can actually do it again in a short period of time. Then the threads of the non PreMems gets buried easily. Just my opinion.

Of course, I want it implemented but I don't want it get *abused* by anyone. Then of course at last we would be loss. As because then a member creates 30 account and bumps his/her thread daily. Am I wrong there? :)

I guess you people seem to make a lot of money off DP.. to not have the patience to wait even 7 days to bump your thread!

Since I do not need/use this feature that badly, it would be unethical for me to advice people... 'To be satisfied with what you have!' :p

    Regards,

I see your point there RightMan. But, I know you don't actively use DP for Selling your services like most of sellers does on DP. If you ever had created a thread in Services section for anything then you would know how useful that feature is. You thread would have gone way down in just 8 - 9 Hours there. So, I really think the Bump time should be lowered. :)

As i said if the bump time is a month you will find your thread at almost the same position as when the bump time was 7 days.Thats because its the bump time for everyone.do you get it.as for bumping someones else thread is a good innovative idea and it can be polished and implemented in such a way that good threads will keep getting bumped often.:)

IMHO, keeping the bump time for regular members at 30 days and reducing it to 3 days for premium members will get DP Loads of new premium members (just something to think about).

well i am not agree with funkymario solution, those who are willing to purchase premium membership, they can still purchase with those features which are described in premium membership section, just lowering the bumping time is not at all effective to get peoples for premium membership

Well, it surely would increase Premium Members as because most of people who becomes Premium are sellers who are becoming premium for more features as well as to make themselves prove as reputed.
