I think you should be the President of Iran, and I'll be the President of the United States! :)

BTW, the NYTimes wrote about Sakineh again, thought it was kind of an interesting article.

    LOL. :)

I think being president is a difficult job, you can tell if you look at the before and after pics. Look at how Obama's hair is turning gray, this was taken only six months into his presidency...

Probably his makeup guy thought that people would have more faith in B.O. with a little gray in his hair. It makes him look a bit less like an ignorant college boy.

I like to think that it's all the guilt he has to contend with. Knowing he acts as a puppet for something much larger must take its toll on him, especially when made to support unconstitutionalities when being a constitutional lawyer.

Sounds like Cuba, sounds like China, sounds like people who allow evil people to rule over them. Iranians, you need to take hold of your liberty, which means you need to take hold of your own future.

    Update...

There are protests being planned, on August 28th a worldwide protest against stoning, "To that end we call on citizens of the world to mark August 28, 2010 the day of protest action by 100 CITIES OF THE WORLD AGAINST STONING. We call on you..."

This event on Aug 28th is being sponsored by Stop Stoning Now, Iran Solidarity, Mission Free Iran, and Not One More Execution. You can read more about it on Mission Free Iran.

In New York City another large protest against Ahmandinejad is being planned on September 23rd in Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza. It's being organized by human rights activists, including many Iranian Americans.

If you haven't already, you can get involved in the letter writing campaign for Sakineh, and sign the petition for Hanieh “Sharareh” Farshi Shotorban - arrested last month and charged with “insulting what is sacred” and “having contacts with a foreign entity” for using Facebook.

Even if the media is banned from an area, an ordinary protester could easily capture images, upload it to YouTube and Facebook, and Twitter about the experience all over the world, and I suppose that's just not the kind of exposure that any repressive regime would like.

P.s. If any of you want to participate in the worldwide protest against stoning on August 28th, you may already have an organized protest planned in your local area, here is the listing on Mission Free Iran.

I believe a mobile carrier can block both short codes and access to websites. Correct me if I am wrong. If the gov blocked twitter, no one on the blocked carrier would be able to access twitter.

These guys don't seem to share your viewpoint. They appear to like people to watch them executing women and children.
