My 728x90 Leadboard ads suddenly look different. Instead of the adds being 4 ads seperated horizontally, there are now 4 ads seperated vertically. The links look more natural and I think could lead to a huge influx of revenue for veryone. Has anyone else noticed the new look?
The changes were made probably more than a month ago.. Also 468x60 Banner is showing two horizontal ads instead of two vertical ads.
How does it saves space, the space you placed code for remains the same? Revenue increase, well we need to wait and watch, these are cosmetic changes and nothing to do with CTR, actually those long leaderboard ads were always ugly looking and used to be "on your face" ads for the visitors.
Look at 336x280 ad block here, http://www.amitbhawani.com/blog/micromax-x510-pike-touchscreen-phone/ The Title and beside we have URL, previously Title one line and url one line. So is not saving of space??
I was curious too, and slightly skeptical, because the old layout was nicer aesthetically. But after about 2 weeks now, I see that my CTR has consistently risen to near 4% from about 2.3% with proportionate earnings increase. We had hot weather, and that affects my site. So I've watched my site as the weather has fluctuated both hot or cold and the CTR remained improved through either. My services are outdoors. But the Adsense ads are more related to my extra content. And it seems that more people are browsing the content longer when the weather is either really hot or really rainy and cold when they are stuck indoors retreating.
Me too this happened last night (23rd) for the first time, that said it switches between that and the old format so it looks like even the big G' is split testing!
So far I've only seen a change on my 728x90 ads - not in other sizes/formats yet. Wonder if that's coming next..... Yours, Andy.
Looks much cleaner then the old format. I am not using any Leaderboard Ads so I can't say if it improves CTR though StarBuG
