I was browsing the Web Hosting section and saw the following in the sales data...

    "Verify With PayPal

    New feature, Shawn?

What are the advantages to entering your PP email?

Currently it just allows a buyer to get some basic information about your PayPal account (when it was created/if it's a verified PayPal account for example). It's something anyone can do if they have the PayPal email... this just makes it into an easy one-click link to view the info.

    Yep... for example: https://www.paypal.com/us/verified/pal=donations@metabrainz.org

You are talking about something completely different... PayPal does not verify the ownership of a domain you are trying to sell. If you want to verify you own the domain you are trying to se,, you can verify it from your sale page.

Does it show up in every WTS thread... by default, even if the thread starter has not entered his paypal id?

    Regards,

Yep... if they click it and they didn't enter any PayPal info, it will tell them there is no info.

Yep, although would be terribly easy to spot when the verify email and send to email don't match... Then they are banned.

Ah, means infraction for that? Or direct ban?

What if I am using Buy Now button of some services like Plimus and there PayPal ID is different?

Why, because if it's only in infraction you plan on doing it? lol

If YOU are selling something, why would you give someone else's PayPal address for the buyer to send payment to?

Nope, if I would likely getting an infraction from it ever I would be liking to stay away from it. :)

No, you didn't get it. I am not giving PayPal address. I am giving Buy Now Link of a e-commerce company who manages payments for me. They allows different methods of payments which includes PayPal. So, there PayPal ID would be different then me of course.

    Not sure why you would want a 3rd party to take a PayPal payment for you, but okay... {shrug}

Either way, I assume you aren't going to be listing your PayPal as one thing and then giving the buyer a different PayPal address to send funds to. If you are doing that, then yeah... it could cause problem for you.

PayPal don't allow payments for eBooks directly. But, if we do it with Plimus they allows it (Strange Policy  )

Okay, I would likely stay away from this then.

    Thanks for all the clarification.
