Well your idolwhiteexposed.net/ domain was never even registered until 2010-06-11. It's a brand spanking new site. If this is the site you're refering to then my guess is that you've been experiencing the Google Honeymoon, and the honeymoon has ended. Why should a brand new site with virutally no inbound links of substance continue to rank on page one of Google. Google will give your site a big bump in rankings showing you on page 1 for days, sometimes weeks, even though your page does not legitimately deserve to be on page 1 and then when the honeymoon is over, you will fall far back into the SERPs where you should have been ranking all along. Now comes the "real" work... scratching and clawing your way back to the top.
Just a followup, and thanks for all the advice. I wasn't doing anything blackhat and my content was reasonably good and original. It must have been like you guys suggested that it was just a google glitch because I am back on page 1 of google at the 4th position today.
I had a site which was about a year old hanging around the middle spots of the second page of results for months. Then one week I got a surge of traffic and discovered it made it to the bottom of the first page, then started climbing a spot a day or so. Then about a week later, poof. Knocked waaaay back down. It gradually returned to the previous level and stabilized atop the second page after that. What I think happened, is that Google starts at the top of the results when it regenerates rankings. As sites get re-evaluated it can open gaps for sites further down the line to climb up, until Google gets to re-evaluating them, then they get kicked back to the back of the line with everyone else until other sites get evaluated and the connections between the sites are re-discovered.
Hold on tight and keep up your site promotion. The rankings can bounce around, especially if the domain name is new.
I once accidentally put index: no-follow on the header template of my site. And my site just vanish from google within a day.
Wait for a week and check it then. If still not listed, change your homepage's some contents, add new contents. And edit your template. Wait for a week again and want to re-valuation for your site from your webmster-tools/Google.
Wait for week or two, in meanwhile add some fresh content and buil quality backlinks, but don't be to aggresive with backlinks.
It happens to may all the time - sites leave the index and then return. It's just Google doing it's thing.
Good info, sonicmayhem! Thanks for providing this link from one of my threads re: Easy Way to Get on 1st Page of SERPs for my copywriting services. Glad you mentioned keyword tags: I may need to refine mine. When I made them on each page, I typed about 15 keywords, knowing not all of these words were used on this particular page. Sounds like you're saying to either 1) delete the "unused" keywords from that page or 2) add some sentences on that page using them. Also, what the max number of keywords to tag per page? Thanks!
Hi jewel3000, What I would do is use your 2 or 3 most important keywords on the main page of your site, because one shouldn't be stuffing their title tag anyways, and you should definitely have those most important keywords in your title tag. Place them in the description and keyword tags as well as header tags and the body of your page. Like place the most important keyword/phrase in an H1 tag and the other keyword/phrase in an H2 tag and so on and so forth. Then, use any other keywords you have left over on other pages of your site the same way as the main page. Then get backlinks to those pages using those keywords as anchor text. Remember to vary up the anchor text once in a while so the process doesn't look automated. Like for example, for the main page of your site, use the domain name as the actual anchor text the odd time. Google doesn't want people going and getting backlinks. They want a site to aquire them naturally, so it should look as natural as possible to Googlebot. Getting links to the inner pages of your site makes it look more authoritative rather than links continuously going to the main page, and a lot less spammy. Create content that is so good that people want to link to it on their own. Hope this helps ya out. =) Shawn
Sometime this happens, personaly i wouldnt be to worried it should come back on top in just a few days.
