I've gotten to the first page of Google!

For my blog, Vindictus Online - by some guy named Matthew Wilson :p (AKA: Me)

There are over a million search results for this particular key phrase.

    My marketing has used:
    • Two forums
    • Twitter
    • Content updated almost every day

And, just like that, I've gotten to the bottom of page one, and the first video on page 1.

My Analytics proves that 4% of my traffic comes from Search Engines, and let me show a picture instead.

Picture of my Analytics with a bit of Analysis

What do you think? Is this motivating to you? Anything else I should include on my site and marketing?

Many people make the mistake of using search results for keywords. This number means nothing. You need to use the google adwords tool to see if people are actually searching for the keyword otherwise even a #1 ranking is a waste of time because it won't bring much, if any traffic.

It is good. But the term has low competition and not many searches per month

I also would like to know if your site is only new thus it could be the effect of the premature popularity boost which means that ranking could not be permanent yet that anytime it could end up away from the fist page again. Otherwise, the traffic gain result will actually motivate me to do more.

I see...The Adwords tool doesn't seem to work for me atm. Will post pic later.
That is true, it is a new and trending topic. The game has gotten into Closed Beta, and maybe a month or a year from now, there will be many more blogs as there is with MapleStory.
Yes my site is brand new. Ah, then, I suppose that this is temporary...

If you are getting higher ranking for most search keyword then it will be a big achievement.

This is awesome. I always wanted my site to be in the first page of Google Search... Alas, I am still lagging quite a bit. But congratulations!!

Being on the first page of any search term is good work for someone who has been online for as short a time as you. However, you still got a LOT of work to do my friend. All your statistics can be greatly improved on.

Thanks. I do agree with that, but the topic itself will automatically become more and more famous. Starting the blog this early into the topic (though it's not as early as other fansites, they're forums and such) has allowed me to partner with the company hosting the topic. I am one of the two (of my topic) blogs I've seen, and in the future, it will be many more. This is merely the beginning to hold my place when the topic becomes very famous, which it will.

Just 4% from SE is too low. It means most of your traffic is from referred website(s) and marketing. It means you should do this activity constantly to get visitors.
If you are on a first page and receives just 4 visits a day, it means your main high ranked keywords worth nothing, i.e. not popular.
the 4m you talking about is number of results for that keyword, and not number of searches.

The truth is your keywords have only 2,900 searches in a moth globally. It means if you will be on a first page in a first place globally, the maximum you can get is 2,900 visitors a month.

Let me give an example. I just cut a random snippet from a sentence of text on my home page — the expression "in its varied expressions worldwide". It is obviously a phrase that no one is searching for, but it comes up #1 on Google's first page.

I show you that as an illustration of the fact that obscure or even less-competitive keywords or phrases easily show up on Google's first page. But by their very nature, they bring little if any traffic.

I see. But as I said above, my topic is trending. It's brand new.
Though that may be true, the topic "Vindictus" is brand new.
I shall update with an Analytics report tomorrow, I've gotten hundreds more visitors to my site today.

I'm sure big part of the increase will be from this forum :).
    Good luck.

Congrats, the first time one ranks #1 in Google it always gives you a warm feeling. Even when you repeat it for other keywords one still feels good.

Having stated that, I must however put a damper on your joy: Being #1 does not guarantee a goor turnover. And as you can see in the post I just created, Google #1 is worth less than what you might imagine...

    Twitter?

Does twitter will help you to improve your rankings in Google? As far as I know, twitter is only good in bringing traffic. Anyway what are the two forums that you're participating?

    Congrats!!!!!!!!!!

Now, has being at the bottom of page 1 improved your sales? Hope so. :)

That's my goal, to get to bottom of page 1 by Halloween.

I doubt it. :3 My topic has nothing to do with this forum, so practically nobody will look at it.
Thanks, and I have read that. Quite an awkward post. My topic is USA/Canada based (It's a North American Game), so I should stilll get a lot from Search Engines.
I know that, but that has to do with the Analytics too.

Both are with the topic of Vindictus. VindictusHQ and Vindictus US

Easy to do! Here, put this word somewhere on your home page: futzlepoogy

A Google search currently returns zero results for this word (which I just now made up). So the first person to use it will naturally get the #1 Google ranking.

Just having some fun ... :)

(Oops, I just realized that since I've used "futzlepoogy"" here, this post could achieve the #1 ranking. Oh, well, there's still room for 2nd, 3rd, etc.)
