Best way to market a web host?

Hi there i own a new website hosting company. Im just wondering whats the best place to market the site? Ehat are the best free/payed directorys. What are the best places to win awards and get your service reviewd? What is the best way to market a new hosting company free and payed.

I had to do it for 2 years before getting any real customers..

How I got customers is a different story, I joined a forum for an arcade script (I'm pretty sure you can guess which one) and offered some support to the visitors.

Soon enough, PM's came and wanted more support. I offered them hosting, they took it and business spread!

Yep the sites in my sig Keliix06, and sixty6 i own www.articlelord.com wich used to have an article script on (one that im guessing is the same one you used) Im redesigning my whole site with member log in panels,vbulliten support section and affiliate section ect.. The site can be seen at www.greenlush.com / www.greenlush.com/partners.html www.greenlush.com/awards.html www.greenlush.com/testimonials.html The site is currently in HTML but after all the CMS ect... is built it will be in PHP. Im just wondering... I need some free recriprocal links in directorys infact i dont mind paying for a few, i payed $40 for a pr7 directory only to realise its only the front page that was pr7 and the section my site was in was pr0....

Start Affiliate program promoting your hosting company... Offer free hosting to the sites providing a great promotion of your product...

Maybe you should finish building your site first before you market it, because it really only has one page to it! If you really think about it, would you sign up with a hosting company that doesn't have a complete site?

 

Submit your site to directories, register and post in high traffic web hosting forums with link to your site in the sig. Apart from that set up business cards or just some really basic offline marketing scheme because once you get a few offline clients they usually tell their mates and acquaintances, then you have their references coming to you.
