If the Android keeps destroying the competition like it has recently, and you factor in mobile search to the equation, I'd say 85% (like it is now).
Desktop search (main search engine) share would remain the same, but lot of scope for increasing share in local search, news search, blog search and mobile search.
Google can't go over 90% never because nothing in the world can't have that large share...So now, google is somewhere at the top and will not go up, at least nothing significant
Oh wow! man this is completely out of my mind. I mean this is completely new topic for me. And the "digitech" has shared an awesome analysis which can clarify question exactly.
I don't think Google will go up or down in the next five years. If they did I don't think it would be anything significant. Maybe if Facebook were to integrate mobile more and integrate web search more then they maybe able to take some of Google's share but I don't think they will.
I'm wondering how much Microsoft is willing to invest to get a wider market share. I believe if Microsoft kept up a strong marketing campaign they could possibly begin slowly chipping away at google. But the thing is google is so strong and unless someone else enters the field with something breath taking I think google could keep it's position as the top dog for search.
Thanks for your chart sharing, "digitech". It's obvious that Google has an will account for the largest percentage. But as "asiammyself" said, if Microsoft put more focus in search engine field, especial desktop search. Probably Bing will be much more popular. As to mobile search area, I think no one can beat Google even in a longer time.
Google will lose a large chunk of traffic if this goes ahead - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1908713 BTW: The post is about local listings not adsense, I got trigger happy with my typing and put the wrong thing
i think google will be stronger in 5 years many people depend on googe so we don't wish google go down
Wish is wish. But I don't want to see Google to be that too stronger in the future years that other search engines are all vanished.
