Adwords = PageRank ?

Hi, i read in a SEO Blog that the guy had put online a brand new site like two week before google's pagerank update, hired adwords and did no seo or web promotion (other than adwords). When google updated he had PR2. He claims that Google gives higher pagerank if the site uses adwords...Didnt know if it was true but everybody knows that a brand new site with zero promotion cant get a PR2 in 15 days.

I read on another blog that a man with a pr0 site hired adwords and in a month a PR1 appeard on his site without google updating the Pageranks. He also said that Google updated once in a while the PR of the sites using adwords even if there was no general PR update.

I wanted to know if someone had heard of this or if it had happened to you or someone you know. Im not planning on using adwords but im starting 2 new sites so if this was true, ill thinks of it just to give the sites a quick PR without waiting for the next update ;)

    Thanks, fuser

I didn't heard about this before but If this is true, I'll allocate 100 $ from my earnings for Google AdWords Each month! But I don't think this is fair because the PR must be obtained like others do, backlinks and others!

Use of AdWords has no impact on PageRank...at all.

guyfromchicago is right. However, if you check your backlinks in yahoo, adwords links do show up, or at least they used to, I've never heard an explanation for that.

No they don't. People scape AdWords results and display them as content so they can host Adsense on those pages. Those are what will show up as links.

The structure of ADSENSE , i think doesn't permit the link inside the ad box being catched by the spider bot.

Because if could, it will be necessary only to put your site on ADWORDS from Content, not in Search List, you would have one link on a lot of sites (that participate of Adsense).

So you would be getting one link from a lot of sites, meaning that you have a vote on each.

But the spider bot doesn't catch those links once the adsense structure are made to work as a kinda of frame.

    ;)

I think it would go against "don't be evil" if that was true...

I've found that using AdWords DOES increase your PR.

I created a new site and only used it for AdWords, with no SEO or promotion of any kind, and the pages I was targeting got a PR 4.

Yes, Adwords does help increasing PR. When google caches other website, they will cache your link even it is just related ads.

I always found pr2 within a month with good internal linking and one well placed link to a prexisting site with a pr2-4. Did I miss something or was it just luck multiplied several times!

fuser I suggest you stop reading any SEO blogs that say this sort of thing otherwise you will be reading more dodgy information.

Good to see T0PS3O back in action :D

That is 100% incorrect. Using AdWords does not have a direct impact on PR.

nope adwords will not help - got two company websites - one spends alot on google adwords, running longer yet moved higher than PR1 for all its pages.

other site doesn't use adwords yet has PR4 or PR3 on all other pages.

The new sites just got lucky I think!
