Do search engines rank this directory level differently? http://www.sheersoftware.com/private/blog http://www.sheersoftware.com/blog/ I assure that the level of directory in which the contents exist will affect their page rank, I am write?
well if your first links works, then yes PR for these 2 links would be different. even if they have same content
Any reasons why? Is it because of the level of directory at which they exists. That's just examples. First link doesn't work, second one works.
Even if your pages are the same your on page SEO only makes up 10% of your ranking. How you link and other off page seo will make up the other 90%, so those pages will be affected differently.
It's a simple answer really, no 2 pages on the web are the same. Age is often different and backlinks are always different. Even if you made the same 1,000 profiles going to 2 sites...some would be indexed and others would not.
i thing so "Even if your pages are the same your on page SEO only makes up 10% of your ranking. How you link and other off page seo will make up the other 90%, so those pages will be affected differently."
I don't think the directory level has any effect on the PR of sites/blogs especially when it comes to SEO.
Directory level doesn't have a lot of effect but both pages will be ranked differently in spite of having same content.
