No, it has nothing to do with search engine ranking.

Alexa is just a tool and is as far I know not used by any searchengine. But if a searchengine does, then I am sure the weight of this factor is not much because fraud with Alexa can be very easily done.

Yeah just forget about Alexa, that's just a term more or less.. just focus on actual SEO work and you'll be alright...

If your alexa ranking is low enough, you get a dedicated page on alexa, with a do-follow backlinks (lots of authority)

No your Alexa rank does not influence the search engine. But if you have a good Alexa rank you probably have done something right and also have a good seo rank.

Google has said publicly that Alexa and other factors like it which measure traffic are not part of the algorithm. It's another tool to see how many people are getting to your site, but not much else.

Alexa rank is just a measure of the traffic (relative to other sites) and has no relation with the SERPs.

Alexa does have uses... If the Alexa is sub-50,000ish it's useful for comparing general traffic from two sites that are similar, in the same industry with the same user base.

I don't know if you can say that Alexa has NO correlation with SERPs

Alexa does track your website's activity, and Google CAN use it to determine if your website is active/dormant

But Alexa is heavily skewed towards tech-related sites... and even if it is related to SERPs, it really is only based on traffic/content activity so not much you can do to affect it

No relationship whatsoever, Alexa provides an indication of the traffic that a site gets, but says nothing about its SERP. I have seen quite a few sites with PR0 or PR1, and nowhere in the SERPs, but with excellent Alexa ranking, which is a bit mystifying unless they have been deindexed by G... In any case, there are some doubts about the accuracy of the Alexa ranking, because it is generated not by measurement but by sampling (the users that use the Alexa toolbar). Specially in new sites, it is possible to see the Alexa ranking jumping up and down by a million positions in a couple of days...

in all my years of working online I have come to the conclusion that Alexa rank is quite overrated to be honest
