What's better for improving your pagerank?

    It is always helpful to have link from page which has less outgoing link as.....google considers it bad to have a link from page which has serveral links already placed......

    The site index page is PR4, but not all the pages in the site have page rank of 4. So I think the former will be better.

    Links from the same site will be counted as one backlink irrespective of the number of links you have. It's better to have links from different quality sites ( every link from different sites counted as backlinks) than links from same site and of course the links should not be 'no follow' in other words links should be 'do follow'.

    The more backlinks with your targetted anchor text the better and the highter the trust they have the better as well. "Trust value" of a domain is illustrated by the Google PageRank function.

    Find sites with do-follow attribute (forums, blogs, social bookmarking sites). Better - target keywords you can be competative for and build your site around that. That will get you high in the SERPS regardless of PR.

    Lot's of questions about the true value of PR floating around lately...

    I've seen it over and over and over by some top marketers.

    10 good links are better for you than 1000 bad backlinks.

    All you really have to do, is make sure your website links to itself throughout your pages, and get some good quality(NOT quantity) backlinks, and post fresh content often. Stay active, the rest will take care of itself.

    Hi! At your place I would evaluate mainly SERP results, PR is less significant. I don't mind the level of PR of my source, SERP results are much more important for me because they reflect the competition.

    The most important thing is that the backlinks are relevant. 1 relevant backlink is better than 25 irrelevant ones.

    1 link from a PR 4 page is better than 25 links from a page rank 4 site but has 0 PR on the page where your links are. Assuming everything is the same, a PR 4 page has more ranking power than 5*5*5*5 = 625 PR 0 pages.
