i don`t want to depend on adsense, how to make revenue from any adv other than google plz..any experience?
amazon may be easy but it's pretty well accepted that their payouts are horrible. check out linkshare, commission junction, etc for affiliates. for adsense-esque stuff, try chitika, YPN. I personally wouldn't bother with CPM banners unless you have pretty low quality traffic. if that's the case consider tribal fusion, casale, fastclick, burst, etc.
You have to innovate. Create a product of your own and market it on your own sites. That is the best way to keep the revenue high when Adsense goes wrong. Yes it is more work, but if you're not willing to work hard, you don't deserve the money.
Depending on what your site is about, you might wanna give eBay affiliates a try, I've found that to be good.
I have found the conversions on amazon to be quite poor. Plus the commissions are very low so you have to sell big ticket items to really make it worth your while. I prefer CJ.
Yeah, those Amazon book ads look rubbish. The pictures are tiny and poor quality. I've never sold a book through my website. I suspect that if someone wants a book, they just go directly to Amazon and don't bother looking anywhere else. I put some book ads on my site and got a pathetic click-thru-rate and no sales. What I'm doing is to try loads of different affiliate products until I find one that works. Still haven't found it though
I would have thought CPM banners would be ideal for people with high traffic rather than those with low traffic.
I understand that Adsense earns the best, but going by all that I've seen in the last year, I'm sticking to my home catering biz for my main income. I just posted this in another forum... Adsense just has tooooooo many unknown variables. One slight mistake and you could be bumped out. So my strategy is to make my site the best that I can, and with the increase in reputation and traffic will come advertisers.
If your site is about books or something related to books then you'd do well listing eBay auctions for books, especially if you can get new people to sign up for an eBay account as well as bid. Mind you, I'm yet to get anyone register, everyone seems to already have an eBay account.
CPM ads are good for those with high, low value traffic. if you have high, high quality traffic, you can do much better than CPM ads.
