30,000 Uniques Per Month - Only $2 adsense per day?

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if there is something I can do to increase or optimise my adsense revenue.

My main site is a forum, with unique news written and published to the CMS almost daily. The site gets around 30,000 unique visitors per month, but only brings in (on average) $2 per day. The highest I've ever recieved is about $5, but thats once a month if I'm lucky.

I'm wondering if there is anything I'm missing with my ad's. I have one under the navbar, one in the footer and one in posts. All these show to unregistered users only as an incentive to register. See attached pics for placments.

We currently have a bounce rate of about 79%, which is very high and probably plays a part in my low click through rate.

So is this around normal, or can I do something to obtain a more positive outcome?

 

Personally, I would change the navbar advert to a private advert so the company pays you direct per month or something. Because I personally never click on anti-virus/spyware/trojan software advertisments.

 

I could always change it to text only, but I don't think that's the problem.

 

Better change your ads in posts and make them like the one used in DP. 480*60 !

this is normal.. but i think you could change your image ads to text ads and that would be more effective and try placing ads on the top position will be much better.. ads in the footer will not be effective..

..u r right..thats the first thing to be done..nobody clicks on such ads..the second...the footer one is useless ,choose some better place...and the post one..just try to change it to link units,place it like here on DP...good luck

 

Just analyze the strategy followed by Digital Point and apply the same.

 

Try Link Units instead of Text Ads. They are more helpful and also try the new shapes that are not available now, but soon will be available.

 

It's all about the niche, like some penny stock keywords can make you $5-10/click which you could not generate from 20+ clicks on some other niche.

So I've just realised I messed this up. It's around 3-4 dollars per day. I miss converted uk > us currency.

Ummm it's ok.

I'm aiming for at least double that traffic by this time next year.
