I have started with a new forum using PhpBB.
As am new to this forum things I'd like to know how can I make the forum perfect for SEO??
As wordpress has plugins for that, does PhpBB serves the same facility??

You think "viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55213" is more SE friendly than "thread-10245.html" (MyBB)? You've got a lot to learn.

Care to source that? Even so, Google isn't the only search engine on the planet.
Pretty much any other forum software will be more SE friendly than phpBB, so I'm recommending to the OP if SEO is a large target for him, phpBB isn't the right software for his project. MyBB is worth checking out. http://mybb.com

If you must stick with phpBB, check out http://www.phpbb-seo.com/, but it's still hacky and won't fix other problems like overuse of tables.

I agree with subdivision here. phpBB is not default seo friendly and those links look ugly
