"Barack Obama's presidency has become a job of such gargantuan size, speed, and complexity as to be all but unrecognizable to most of the previous chief executives. The sheer growth of the federal government, the paralysis of Congress, the systematic corruption brought on by lobbying, the trivialization of the "news" by the media, have made today's Washington a depressing and dysfunctional place." Todd Purdum, Vanity Fair Sept 2010 issue When an ultra-liberal rag like Vanity Fair says this, it must be serious.
So if I am to follow this article, Obama's problems have nothing to do with him and everything to do with an incompetent congress, a lame and dangerous media and evil lobbyists?
Hmmm... didn't Obama campaign on promises of complete transparency to the media, lead a bi-partisan congress, and get lobbyists off capital hill? Perhaps Obama's problems have everything to do with Congress being an accurate reflection of his presidency.
The bottom line from this poll indicates both political parties are equal in disapproval by the public - having control of the gov't and equal to the Republicans after the past two years seems a victory already for the Democrats....the electorate is finally maturing, there is plenty of time before Nov. for the correct messages to be hammered out.
Check out the Paul Krugman's bit from the New York Times . I hope you find it as humorous as I do, especially the attempt at fear mongering over a return to the mid 1990s. Of course the kicker for me was a quote from Rush Limbaugh. Old Rush never fails to get a grin.
Oh joy, Obama and Biden have to declare victory in Iraq today. What a great job they've done. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/07/obama-surge.html
Oh, the Republicans thought telling the truth 7 years ago might endanger the troops was why they put the sign up - and their surge wasn't just a hoax so McCain's patriotism would have a backdrop for the lack of substance their meaningless war needed to disguise the truth......well, the dust is settling and the real campaign for the midterms begins soon after labour day and the time for reckoning is upon them. Can hardly wait for November.
It sounds like he's begging for an intervention. Does anyone know where he lives and if he has any family that might take care of him?
I guess being in the minority has its advantages for the above crowd - nothing they say makes a difference anyway so why bother thinking at all or having rational responses.
Breezewood: The issue is that your responses aren't rational. They are nonsensical. They are collections of words, often without a discernible structure or meaning. It is as if words simply fall out of your head in a seemingly random order. This is not a sign of good mental health and, as this appears to be more than a temporary condition, you should seek professional medical assistance.
