I was using google keywords research tool for researching keywords to create micro niche blogs. Recently i bought Market samurai and its the best of the best for keywords research as well as seo competition analysis as far as i know, but i am in doubt with the reliability of its data. I had done a lil research and got an unexpected result so i am posting here. For a particular keyword data displayed as follows Daily Exact searches= 9896 SEOT(seo traffic) = 4156 SEOC (seo competition) = 60,200,000 SEOTC (title competition) = 3,520,000 SEOTCR (ratio SEOTC to SEOC) = 6% Market samurai describes SEOTCR as ration of SEOTC to SEOC and low score indicates weak competition in market. Now, i wanna ask, is it possible for such powerful keyword only to have 6% of low SEOTCR? Is it really beatable? 9896 exact search per day is not a joke. PLease suggest me geeks, what should i do? should i proceed to create a blog targeting this keyword? Waiting for response.
The SEOCTR, as you said, shows a ration of SEOTC and SEOC, so from the data you are showing thats the case, 6%. If you feel more comfortable you can manually check the results in Google. What SEOTC is showing is the number of web pages that do include the exact same keyword/phrase in the titles, a thing which should show you how many websites are perhaps trying to rank for that keyword. The SEOC however on the other sites it is showing you the number of websites that do mention your keyword (not necessarily in the same order) somewhere in the page (call it, body text, headline, image alt..etc). Hope this explains you a bit
With that high a figure for competitors you may well have quite a backlinking job ahead of you if you want to get on the first couple of pages let alone the top couple of spots. The only way I'd go near this keyword phrase would be if none of the top competitors have high PR and are therefore easy to outrank. With the numbers you're quoting I doubt this would be the case. Use the SEO analysis tool in Market Samurai and it will tell you all you need to know about the PR and authority of backlinks to your likely top competitor sites. Andy
So why don't you use the "SEO Competition" option of MS to take a closer look at these first 10 sites? You will quickly see how "weak" your competitors are.
HEI, Are You kidding me, 60 million SEO competition is so high, how long you need to bet no 1 in google with that result?? i think the valuable data is the keyword that have low competition (fewer than 100.000 with "your keyword here" in google)
Thankx for these replies guys. I am now analyzing more detail in seo competition module of market samurai. BTW, to outrank a competitor, my range for top ten competitors is as follows backlinks<100 PR<5 and m focusing in ONSITE Optimization factors too cz i have seen some sites having 0 PR and some couple of backlinks in top ten position cz their site was on site optimized. Keywords in meta tags, description, h1, h2, h3.... , title etc etc....
I didnt try market samurai, but i heard from some of my seo friends that this one is really useful, i might use this one soon.
Market samurai is all in one..tool for seo from keywords analysis to publishing content...try it buddy, u wont regret
Yeah it's only got a 6% competition rating, but that 6% is over 3.5 million! Very hard to rank for (unless you're looking at a good few years of steady content and backlink creation). Now if the absolute number of title competition is around 50k or less with a 6%, then you have a keyword to research a little more. Oh, and if you're not using the domain function in MS to find quality keyword rich domains, then try it out and see how much easier niche sites are to rank with an aged domain.
Thankx for this reply buddy. You mean to say that, i should be targeted on keywords which have less than 50k SEOTC with less SEOTCR? Actually for long tail keywords i am targeting 15 PBR, 50 SEOT, 10$ SEOV with 30k SEOC. Share some ideas, what are ur methods of filtering keywords for micro niches or long tailed...
50k is still doable. I find 100k overall too much. of course there are exceptions where it's still easy to rank high with over 100k SEOTC. if you find a good keyword with under 50k, research the first pages. If they aren't too strong, try using the domain function and find an aged domain. Then do your SEO thing. At least that's what I do. Have to say Market Samurai is a great program! Would be perfect if it could ping and index as well.
Yah data can be misleading so double check it. Use Market Samurai as your basic tool. For checking u can use google Adwords tool, Spyfu and Seobook keywords tool for confirmation...I guess all data sources can never be wrong...
i also have samurai and think its very good but when i do a pagerank analasys it only checks 1000 backlinks of a site ..how do i change that?beacuse a site can have 10k backlinks and it misses some.
I think MS gives preference to high quality backlinks and shows almost backlinks from high PR sites. But for this i think i will be able to answer when i will contact the support team of MS...anyway thankx for this query!!
I also have Micro Niche Finder. I just analyze SOC (Strength of competition) from micro niche finder. Its also good but....MS is the best
