Hi there, I own a security company in Canada, and we just started up our website. So i have a few quick questions if any one doesn't mind answering. Thanks.

    1. I have registered a few "keyword domain names" such as the following examples (replacing city with my current city of business):

    citysecuritycompany.com
    city-security.info
    security-city.com

Now the question is, if I were to redirect these domains to www.mycompanydomain.com using 301 redirects, would I get any SEO benifits from the keywords?

    2. What are some general tips that I can do to get my website ahead of the security companies. Thanks :)

No. There used to be ways of manipulating this, but Google has recently updated how 301 redirects work, and those methods don't work any more.

Tips won't cut it. You can either learn SEO to a point of professionalism, or hire a pro. A little knowledge can be, and often is, dangerous. Surely a security company can afford SEO?
