Best Indian Bank for NetBanking and Use with Online Payment Processors

i want to get myself a new bank account and am from South India. can someone plz guide me as to which bank to open an account with. am a student and i prefer an account with min balance less than 1000INR. which is the best indian bank for use with pp, mb, etc and also has good netbanking support? i want make a decision today itself. hope to see some good replies

 

I guess only public sector banks like SBI will be able to offer you an account with minimum balance of INR 1000 as private sector banks like HDFC/ICICI would require a new person to have minimum INR 10000 as balance to open a new account!

what about SBT or SIB?

i enquired in SBI and they are asking for lots of paper works... is it worth it? or should i just go with SIB?

 

ICICI has the best services.

 

South Indian Bank is good as well and if it has a branch near you... then no harm in going for it as well.

I'd recommend you to go for SBI. The paperwork is more compared to any other bank, but its worth it.

 

ICICI needs 5K Minimum Balance! I just enquired it before a week to start one myself But i actually use SBT now! Rs 500 is the minimum balance

What is SBT? If you are referring to 'State Bank Of Travancore', I guess all subsidiaries of SBI are already merged with it!

ICICI is the BEST, then I would rate HDFC and BOI (they are equally good too).

 

I have tried many nationalised banks and then have shifted to private banks, as far as nationalised banks are concerned, they are great as long as you dont need any support (that is, if your netbanking all is set up and working properly), if a problem arises then they will not be able to address your issues due to ignorance. Private banks on the contrary are very helpful and at least try to sort out the issues. If you ask me go with AXIS Bank, their netbanking system is one of the best in the industry and they even offer credit cards once you have a good standing savings bank or current account for some time with them and that is immensely helpful when you need to deal with paypal.

 

Get an account in Corp Bank. Best netbanking I have used for now.... even better than Hdfc Bank I use.

i just opened a savings account with SBI. got the netbanking account instantly and will get ATM/Debit card within 15days! Min balance just Rs.550. if i opted for cheque book, min bal is Rs.1100 and i would have got the debit card too instantly! great service i would say

SBI is the leader in the public sector and rest all are more or less the same in their reach and service quality. I would suggest you to bank with one which has a branch near you and good staff!

I just gave up on SBI trying to open up a BANK account for 3 days and the staff at the SBI bank near my home is really pathetic when it comes to service.

 

This is a given.... particularly when the branch is overloaded with more accounts and less staff. I have been lucky in that sense since I have two SBI branch located near my residence and since their work is divided, the support staff is excellent!
