You might've seen my threads about keywords and choosing a niche, but now I have none.

    1. MattsMMORPGs had too many games to cover, iit was an impossible win.
    2. HollysomeworkHelp - I really am a kid, so I don't have so much knowledge about that.
    3. MoneyMakingOnline - There are a lot of blogs about that...
    4. TechyRadhika - General, Personal Blog. No monetization allowed, oh well...Guess I'll just stick with that.

What do I do? I mean, really, that's it because of my age.

Hi, since number one up there had to many games why not just pick the top 3, do some keyword and competition research and build a site on the one game that looks most promising. There are a lot of blogs about making money online and from home, most are general blogs that try to cover far to many aspects of working from home. So instead find one idea and write about it, could be affiliate marketing, site flipping, online surveys, a clickbank product etc.. Become an affiliate for the work at home Niche products you want to work with and sell those products only.

A Niche is a niche, but a sub-Niche can be easier to get into. So instead of going after the big picture break it down into smaller parts and go after those products. Look for keywords withing the chosen Niche that have low competition and the highest search volume. If you go for a Niche within a niche those keyowrds will be easier to find.

You can get a piece of the market share in any of these niches. You just need to be a little creative in your keyword selection. If you're targeting make money online you need to choose the long tail keywords that don't have much competition but still have some relevance to the industry. With regards to the work help, if you don't have much knowledge on that niche you might want to stay away from it because it is difficult to market topics on which you don't know much about. Picking keywords, and writing articles will be difficult because you won't know which keywords will help your marketing campaign and writing articles will be hard because you won't have anything to talk about.

    Wow! Helpful post!
This totally made sense after I read it.

I suppose Niches are good if you want to make tons of money, though due to my age, if I get $10 a month, even that'd be amazing.

I could start on a game that's coming out soon. It's called Vindictus.
Here's a video I got of the competition - It's quite low and it is upcoming with full forums and more!

Thanks, this was good information, but I'm going with what Stephen Meyer said. This'll help once I deal with the competition!

The key to you succeeding is keyword research. Choose the less competitive words that still have a nice volume of searches. Work on optimizing your web pages

ya, I am with those comments... the single most important point here is have a kiling-keyword research... my suggestion is don't try to waste your time and money to compete with super-hot keyword.. To start out, you can find a few low-traffic and low-competition keywords and rank your site for all those keywords.. for instance, if you find 10 keywords, each of them can bring traffic to your site around 10/daily... if you can rank top spot for all 10 keywords, you can have 100 people to your site every day... I am sure those keywords are very easily to rank...
    Hope it helps

I think the number one way to learn how to find niches is to continue to find niches. Go shopping. Check out the local flyers. Whenever your interests are peaked on some topic, see if it is a viable niche. Doesn't matter how major or minor you think the niche is. Let the numbers tell you.

just think outside the box, look around your house and see what you can come up with, such as "speaker cable" or "how do they make socks" something like that

My teenaged son picked the niche of online video games because that is something he loves - and writing about that topic is effortless for him. It's not a terribly lucrative niche but it was a great way for him to "get his feet wet" and learn the ropes.

Once you can get your site into the top 3 SERPS on a "not so lucrative" keyword(s) - you can then start tackling more lucrative keywords.

Again - I'm just echoing what others have said but it bears repeating... first you have to learn to walk before you can jog or run. I recommend picking a topic you like because that makes it fun as you learn.

Keyword research is critical - as is researching how much specific keywords pay.

I had completely written off the whole "passive income from Adsense" as a hoax because my top 3 authority site was focused on CRAPPY paying keywords. I didn't do my research - but I did learn the essential skills needed to GET a site ranks in the top of the SERPS.

When I began targeting better paying keywords - I was STUNNED at how much money there was to be made from just sticking a few Adsense ads on the pages.

Again - this is called "keyword research".... not just how many people are searching - but how much advertisers are willing to pay for those ads.

    Hey Divva,

Making money with adsense is a tricky beast. One great thing about adsense/adwords is the fact that it can steer you to profitable niches because of the higher cost per click on keywords and keep you out of lower profit areas. I've played in both parks and the higher cost is definitely the better. As you mentioned, higher paying keywords are definitely worth their weight in gold.

One strategy that I've seen that I'm working with is targetting low value, high traffic keywords to get ranked in the serps, but I'll put no ads on these pages. But I will create a few money pages that are very niche targetted but have a very high adsense value. There's where I place my adsense. A two punch strategy that seems to work well.

Don't worry about your age, your mind is more open to learning quickly about a new topic than older people. Focus on your research skills - learning to research and master a new topic quickly. Don't stray too far or into something that is over your head, but be willing to identify where the money is online and learn enough about that topic to compete in the niche.

For example, you might not know much about outdoor survival skills, but since you are young you have the time available to you to watch shows about it, read websites on it, read books about it, and get the knowledge you need to build a site around it. Us older people have full time jobs, kids to take care of, wives to keep happy, and a list of other things that makes it impossible to master a new subject in a reasonable amount of time.

I wish I had even a quarter of the time I had when I was 16 to learn about a new niche. Your age is 100% a benefit, not a curse. Don't feel like it should hold you back, if anything it's what will help you succeed.

Generally, what your teenage son is doing is something I wish to get into.
This really isn't a topic you can sell products with - but It's not like I would anyway. I really want to see if I can accomplish anything with it.
I truly don't understand your strategy - but I believe that AdSense should be enough (even if I get very little) to keep me motivated and for my uses.

    Thanks, this was interesting.
This might persuade me to do more than one blog - (though that is not recomended). My current blog is only going to have 1 post a week, due to it's very low content availability.
But, if I try out a few other blogs for a few months (and find my most profitable and most fun), I should be able to find one, or two that really interest me and bring in the cash flow.
