Maybe I've been asleep to this whole economic mess but after trying to sell a couple of my websites on this forum it seems that nobody has any money anymore! Almost every website I would try to sell in the past on this forum would be sold either the first or second day. What happened?
The Economy is bad. But people DO have money. Maybe no one was interested in your sites. What niche is your website based on? You have to take all these little things into consideration first.
You can see the websites I have for sale in my signature. I had some people PM me but they want them for nothing.
I've had a quick browse . And can only say that, your sites aren't making any money whatsoever so why would someone want to pay over $750 when there's a decent chance they'll never get that money back?
That's not my website. Somebody asked me to put it up for sale for them. The blog and the carnauba wax website are mine. I think the prices I have listed there are fair. Two years ago I think these websites would have sold right away. I sold my blog sitestartups.com a couple of years ago for $100 and I even admitted it wasn't making any money. I had 3 people send me money at the same time and had to refund two of them. These days that seems almost impossible.
Maybe you should try a differen't approach. how much traffic does your site produce? Is that a problem? Maybe you can use some of the guys here who provide targeted traffic for a short price? You'll get there sooner or later. It requires patience and belief.
The carnauba wax website is getting traffic right now and is on the first page of Bing and the second page of Yahoo for the search term "carnauba wax". According to Google this term gets about 74,000 searches per month. For $15 that's a steal. My xbox blog is currently being indexed by Google. The $50 is for the looks of it as well as the quality of the domain name. I think it would appeal to most gamers. I also added about 15 posts to get the new owner started which to me is worth something.
Economy is bad... therefore advertising rates are bad... I would buy your wax website if I had more time on my hands - currently my hands are full though.
Thanks Joseph. I basically just tried to sell my websites for nothing to help pay my cable bill and it didn't work. I think I can safely say that people out there are broke or are scared of becoming broke. Oh well, I'll just have to get another extension on my cable bill if that's even possible.
Maybe you are marketing your sites in the wrong place? You need to sell them where people do have money to buy. B
Maybe people don't have such need to buy your site, but they can have money and don't want to spend it.
I guess the economy is getting better! LOL I just sold both of my websites and my ebooks are starting to sell as well.
hmm if you think that economies are in bad conditions, after 2 years you will say economies are in worst! , well i am from india, Economy performing great but inflation sucks.. Gadgets getting cheaper and cheaper but food items getting more expensive day by day.
