It is perfectly fine to submit the same article to as many places as you want. You may have heard that you will get some sort of penalty for this but that is actually a myth. The penalty is if you have the same article on the same exact website.

Of course, the search engines don't really want to show the same article over and over again so you probably will only get 1 (or maybe 2) of them to show up in the SERPS unless the keyword is extremely uncompetitive.

If you are doing it for back links though, you will still get "credit" and you may even get some traffic from people that read your article in the article directories that you publish it on!

I agree, ezinearticles and articlesbase also syndicate the articles and some of the autoposting scrapers use the material as well. So if it's a popular article it might get published a hundreds of sites (backlinks and traffic).

Agreed. A great example of this is with press releases. Big companies do this all the time and the same press release will be published on a couple hundred PR/News websites. No bad SEO stuff happens as a result of this.

Its not good from the search engines perspective I think you'd be better off getting them rewritten or something nothing fancy but so that way you can have a little bit unique content.

I've been doing mass submissions of same articles for years and haven't been banned yet.

If you submit one article to one directory = not much exposure

If you submit one article to 20 directories = 20 times more exposure!

Try yo submit it to Ezinearticles first, ensure it is approved, then distribute it to the other directories
EZA is likely to reject your article, if it is already on the web somewhere else

it is totally Ok to submit one artilce to different article directories... the only thing you should avoid is not use the duplicate content on your own site, google would pulish that... but as to duplicate content on article directories, no problem,, but the link juice from those duplicated content might be comprised
