Ok, so i am under 18 years old and I live in Canada with a paypal account. I have a negative balance of -$31.31 USD. Can i just ignore this matter? I put fake info when i signed up, i know this was wrong, but i'm under 18... What will paypal do to me? Will i get in legal trouble for $31.31 USD that i owe paypal? Should i just wait till they close my account down? I need advice and i'm almost crying as i type this. I'm always thinking about this and can't smile at all. I'm really scared. Someone PLEASE let me know what i should do and what will happen to me. Thank you SO MUCH. i also forgot to add that my paypal is unverified, i dont have a bank account or credit card.

    Sincerely

give someone you know and has a legal paypal account an amount of greater than $31.31 USD to be sent to your paypal account to pay back your debts !! and if you have no one you can give that amount - ask your parents or other relatives of legal age to pay back paypal.

the key point is NOT about closing account - but about paying BACK to paypal the amount you OWE! NOW today is the only best time. tomorrow might be too late.
then close the account, wait until legal age and think twice before opening a legal paypal account again. obviously you are too immature now to stay out of troubles and out of jail.

then - after pay bak - learn to be HONEST in your life to avoid having to spend a few years behind bars!

You are probably worried about the wrong things. No one knows if they will sue you or your parents or try to have you prosecuted for the false information. But the advice you got was good. Pay them back fast. It could make your success at IM harder if you start out being banned from Paypal. Once they are paid back I think all the problems disappear.
I am assuming you can scrape together the money. If you don't have it go earn it. (I'm assuming you are at least 15). Cut some lawns or knock on the door of every small business around until you find one that will pay you to help install programs or make promotional videos or advise them on social media-whatever you know how to do.

imagine what would happen to paypal if they would NOT sue for for the money YOU OWE them rightfully !!
then the day after millions of criminals would start a paypal account and get a few dozen or few hundred $ into minus ... resulting soon in hundreds of millions or billions of $ loss.

you own money - people get you at zero cost, because you are the one to pay the hundred or thousands of $ fees and professional bounty hunters, etc to get your parents money.

    the rule is simple
if you are old enough to lie, then you are also old enough to correct the matter
if you are old enough to waste money, then you are also old enough to work honest ob and earn/pay back!

the fake information you gave them might be a destructing factor for decades to come in all your future - unless you immediately solve and fix your issue. your parents action might be like sunday school compared to possible and available legal action. criminals often start small - and if successful increase step by step.
just look at the recent wallstreet disaster - it all started decades ago much smaller until it got out of control.

confess to your parents and ask for help and pay back to your parents!
and make sure your parent never ever again have reason to worry about you getting lost on the dark side of life. make your parents proud - be honest and clean up your mess and stay clean all your eternal life!

thanks hans, you are correct, i talked to my parents about this situation and they have payed back what i owe paypal, they also told me it was wrong, which i fully agree with. I am never going to use paypal until i'm the right age.

It is good that you have paid up and restored the mental peace... but I guess, the amount was very insignificant to worry so much over it. Paypal would not have initiated anything for such an amount... except writing you some reminder e-mails.

They may if they are tough on the operating procedures they implement. No matter how small or big the amount is, a credit is still a credit that needs to be paid. Closing your account without settling what you owe them might bring you trouble in the future. Take for example applying for another PayPal account with you're of legal age? Having an unsettled due may hinder you from doing such action.

and now you see why we have older parents - to help fix our minor errors ...
and from the various reactions here you see that some people are well willing to leave debts unpaid
hence the global crisis - with millions of people having minor or medium amounts open = that easily sums up to billions of $ and bankruptcy for many companies.
the best in life is always to pay cash and to stay well within the limits of available cash. never spend your future (may be income ) but only your past secured savings if needed. even in my old age, for the past 20 or so years I pay almost all my bills cash and carry all $ cash for the current 1-3 months. it is a much better feeling to have clean accounts all the way than to have minus and live on negative balance credit cards and negative bank accounts.

I wish you good luck in your life
    God bless

PayPal will always find a way of finding you, probably through your ip address, yes just work the $31 off and close the account, since it has bad history. Switch to a different payment processor may be the way forward.
