Actually the federal investigation started back in 07 I believe but Shawn wasn't indited until recently.

 

It's like a bloody great book.. I couldn't put it down.. Shaken and Stirred... The names Hogan, Shawm Hogan....

Wasn't nickycakes some asshole who got partyvaned for stupidity ? I remember his name coming up about 4-5 years ago as a example of stupidity . I don't remember the exact details but it something about a failed server hack .

Anyway major corporations have some assholes in the legal department that tend to sue anyone they see a profit in . A few years ago I had a lawsuit whit some game corporation claiming my team fried their main server . It of course turned out that the server was fine .

And Google does a form cookie stuffing since the beginning of AdSense and everyone loves it .

 

The difference here is that the eBay folks have enough money and influence that they were able to motivate the State of California to pursue a criminal prosecution in this matter -- Shawn could actually go to jail. This is no longer simply a matter of a frivolous civil suit.
