I was ranked on one of my larger websites, for about 100+ keywords, bringing in over 15k unique views/day, then suddenly SERP for all of them dropped from 1st place, down to middle-bottom page. Backlinks are made all the time - always posting quality content - the domains over a year old and had a solid position for months. So yeah, just wondering if anyone else suffered the in the last day or two - and if the SERPs have picked back up for you? Thanks for reading,
it happens from time to time. I had huge drop in November 2009, then month after my traffic recovered and grow even higher it was before the drop. Then sometime in May 2010 be traffic went down again, and just less than a month ago started to recover.
Ugh... sucks. Hopefully it doesn't take over a week lol. My earnings dropped from $80/day to $15/day.
Hi, In my own experiences, having big changes on your page contents would usually lead to such huge SERP drops. Your SERP would come back when Google realize and accept such changes. have a nice day,
Some of my websites are being suffered but most of them are website that continuously in link building efforts. Isn't it weird? The website that never or almost never done on link building are not suffered. This may has something to do with the backlinks evaluated and filtered somehow.
I noticed a huge drop in my ranking a couple of week ago, but now it's normal again. Might be some testing from Google.
I'm also suffering with it from last 10 days. One of my big site lost all the SERP which results in decreased of earnings. I think you are right AirForce1, It happen when i made some big changes with my site . Hopefully google will accept changes and i'll got my site's SERP back.
I noticed some drops on some of my sites as well nothing drastic but some slight bumps down. I think Big G is tweaking the weights on the different factors they use in their algorithm. Seems there is always something changing to keep us chasing but as you say it hits you where it hurts in the wallet. Happened before to me but the sites usually recover after a couple weeks.
If you don't change your site hosting machine, design or codes then most probably some of your backlinks were filtered. If this your case, don't expect to get back your positions. It's a permanent drop for your site. Stop having backlinks asap even if they are relevant and authoritative. Otherwise your site will continue to drop permanently.
That's a shame, Dismatikz. I've never had a blow that big. That must be really irritating. My anime site has also been acting strangely. It doubled in traffic two weeks ago then doubled once again several days ago. It's all coming from Google, so I was quite surprised to login one day to see my traffic quadrupled.
SERP changes from time to time and no one can guarantee if you will rank or drop on your target keywords.
Yes, I have a DMOZ listed, 6 year old site that was getting 2K visitors a day from Google but over the last month it's dropped to less than 100. I'm hoping traffic picks up again in a few weeks as I've changed nothing in terms of the kind of links I was building.
I've dropped today also. Didn't change anything on my site to cause a change. I'm confident it will move back up quickly.
That is true to a point but this is way too full on to be the case. Have you recently linked out to any sites recently? I would advise you to check all your outbound links to see if the sites your linking to have been penalized. If its the case there would be several outbound links in question.
