I know that they can track from where the traffic is comming from(i mean which country,ip etc).
My question how do they exactly know that the traffic is comming from clicking on the link on myspace, orkut, emails etc.
Personally what i feel is how can a person or a program can know the traffic is comming from clicking a link on myspace etc.
Do they place any spyware program on our computer

As long as your are only adding your url to sigs and stuff like that you should be fine. If you are actually creating topics in forums and replying in forums and posting your url when its not necessary, they will tell you to stop.

Gosh, quite an exhaustive discussion this turns out to be...
Well, I get a lot of my traffic from orkut for an academic blog. But for my flagship blog: spiritualghost.blogspot.com , I get traffic from more diverse sources including search engine results and direct visitors. ...But earn from the academic blog because it has more high paying ads and a better CTR. Please let me know if I should await my first cheque or anticipate a ban!

Don't worry pal, AdSense loves good publishers who get lot of traffic and clicks but they can't say that officialy because then people will just start spamming and stop developing their content, you may even see a page with opnly ads on it like that nasty digg4it lol .

Where did you get that? Although i dont think there are any rules about traffic driving issue. There should be some rules about the site contents, not about the site marketing. But according to the Adsense UAP, you cant be linked with some illegal sites. But i cant find any reason why orkut would be illegal :)

I hope you're right wissam...:) I mean yeah, even ive seen pages that have ads...n rare content. I wonder how they survive!

And well Hardick, orkut is obviously not illegal...but its supposed to be unhealthy traffic if u get most of ur traffic from there. I myself have not seen any such think in the Adsense TOS, but forum posts by other people, including those who've been banned..make me kind off, believe so...

Its not too difficult to monitor the source of your traffic. In fact, I use a code on my blog by which I can view the source of my traffic...whether its from search engines, orkut..or direct traffic. Im even provided with the IP address of the visitors.
If I can see that...do you think its difficult for GOOGLE to do so??

If you are SPAMMING these community forums with your site (ala sending out 100s and 1000s of those Myspace Bulletins via bots) you are asking for trouble. The number of people banned for using Myspace bulletins to drive traffic to their site to convert with Adsense gets longer and longer everyday. I don't know about Orkut (don't even know what it is), but if you are sending out a ton of spammy links back to your site, you are asking for trouble, my friend.

And someone mentioned something about hiding your referral links: dude, DON'T DO THAT. If Adsense can't verify your referrals, you are SOL, especially if you get a lot of traffic. This is one of the main reasons people get banned -- too many blank referrals.

Orukt is very famous in India and subcontinent. And for your kind information it’s a part of Big boss GOOGLE

If traffic from my space is danger then traffic from orkut is ____ (the word does not exist :D :D )… I don’t know about others but for me if u r driving traffic from orkut then its like banning urself from adsense.
Though I hate using orkut for various reasons (really don’t remember when the last time I used it) one of my educational site is getting around 0.2% of the traffic from it.

What would everyone say about a myspace resource website? Many DP members run such sites. And the top referrer is expected to be myspace.com

    In this case, what?

But you don't have control over this traffic. What about the hundreds of myspace resource sites running?
