Time for approval?

How much time it takes to be approved by directories? Whether they inform about approval or disapproval? I think it is very difficult to be approved for a new site.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Well.. there is not any fix time for getting directory approval.

Mostly it differs from directory to directory. and also mood of moderator..

In general if directory is new then you can get it in 24 to 48 hours.

That's really hard to tell. Some directories state it in their guidelines, some dont.

I think it's a safe bet that once a directory gains their prayed for PR, they mostly tend not to even care about the free links anymore. It's all about the benji baby! lol

Give it about 2-4 weeks in general.

I can only speak for my own approval times with my directory, but here's what I look for with a quick approval.

    1. Short descriptive title.
    2. Description is to the point and accurate and is in line with the sites content.
    3. Submitted to the right category or sub.

Lastly, the page must load smoothly and not take a long time loading. Submissions that meet this criteria get extremely fast approval from me. Those that do not either get deleted quickly or float to the bottom for when I have time.

I submit to many directories and form my experience:
    Free directories:
Can take from 24 hours to 1 year to get approved, the normal time is less than 1 week
    Paid Directories:
80% will approve in less than 24 hours, 10% less than 48 hours, 10% less than a week

I say it's about a month for approval/rejection, but that's only to give me some leeway, and in practice review time is much shorter. The sites that I see that do give me pause are always the borderline submissions, with maybe a few too many ads and a slightly cobbled-together feel, but nothing that's actually against the guidelines.

So if you want a fast approval time, the best approach is to wait until your site is ready before submitting it to directories. I get no end of underpopulated forums submitted, and sites with fairly sparse original content. The sites that are real resources tend to stick out a mile.

I am quite surprised that some of well-established paid directories do not even send me any notification email after approval. I need to go back after some time and check whether my submissions have been approved and are listed.
Something very basic is neglected sometimes...

I usually take up to 24 hours for paid submissions and up to 48 hours for free submissions, except for the people that submit the same site every single day(ones that have been rejected) I just let them sit there:D
