Lost PR because website was suspended

    Hello People,

My health related website (PR3) was down for a week due to malware issue and was suspended by the hosting guys. We scanned the website and have restored the data. The backup data is of May2010. Now the site is live and working with some data loss which is manageable but we have lost PR.(PR0)

I feel this is a temporary phase and PR will be back after we submit xml sitemap again. Internal pages of the site are cached but homepage is not cached by google.

Is there any way to get our website's PR back.

    Please advise

Simply You can make the request to Google and submit your site to Google webmaster tools, use some security to protect your site like verisign etc, do some ethical work in the right direction.

No I don't think you will get back your Page rank once it's gone, It's due to yoru old date missing from yoru site which was popular on Google

Dont worry it will be back in few days (may be couple of weeks) time. Relax and keep building links, and funny thing is that your regain your past positions as well.

Use webmaster tools to request re-inclusion. I had this happen several years ago, for similar reasons and it took around a month to restore itself to the way it was.

It will be back when your ranking and traffic get improved as previous, so do not worry on this point. You have done some mistake such as not taking care of the site at that stage when the malware attacks, so you have to pay some loss. But dont worry it will back again.

The same thing happened to me once. The pagerank was reinstated about 2 months later without doing anything.

Pfft Please... PR is based on inbound links. His inbound links are STILL there. His PR will return although he may have to wait until the next Toolbar PR update to confirm it.

If your site was down due to malware, once you have totally cleaned things up you should submit a malware review via webmaster tools. Perhaps this will help http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=163633. Check out the bottom of the page where it says:

    Hello Friend,

yes, you can get PR back, first remove which links seem unappropriated then after send a request from google webmaster to google and then you can get PR again.

I would say yes definitely you would get it back. It wasn't due to anything you intended to do anyway it wasn't black hat SEO or anything so Google just needs to be informed it was something to do wrong with your host.

as others have said do not stress too much about Page rank, make sure all the on page elements are correct and in the right place, ensure your page structure is conducive to promoting the important content and use the authority of other sites to give your site a boost up without the need to rebuild pr overnight. unfortunately google remembers everything so even when you fix a problem it will keep in its memory that there was an issue
