Even if he is doing mass links it will take at least one update to see that movement, there are very competitive terms. I assume black hat Any thoughts?

Getting there is only half the battle. Ask him if you will stay there in the rankings or if he is doing anything that might later get you sandboxed.

You should know if he changed something on your pages, or asked you to do so. Concerning links, yes they don't need to be visible, I do that too when I serve competition (SEOs who outsource) to hide how I work.

Very few chances to get sandboxed, but the site may fall a bit, just a bit, back when he stops working.
the backlinks have not changed i have been keeping track no new links shown up on webmaster or yahoo explorer i dont know if i will get sandboxed which is what concerns me if this is black hat remember these terms are very compeitive and i have never seen rankings rise so fast before
I would never instruct someone to perform SEO for me unless I knew their methods beforehand. As someone already posted, it's one thing to get a good position but another to stay there. There are a number of reasons why the links may not show up in YSE. This can happen when you build low level links to a site (I refer to things like forum links or syndicated article links here). But really, when you drip feed the info to the forum or withhold certain information, it's hard to get an idea of what the guy is doing. The fact that you weren't confident that he could achieve these rankings means that you probably didn't pay him much, or at least you didn't pay him upfront, so I'd suspect that he built a large number of low level links to the site with some sort of automated software, placing the link building efforts firmly in grey hat territory, at the very least. Of course, someone has the answer to your question. Have you tried asking him?
Google Webmaster and even Yahoo will show just a fraction of your backlinks, and it usually takes time. So just to let you know: You have currently: 2,270 backlinks to your homepage 24,001 backlinks to your whole domain Please let us know when Google will remove your site from their results. How do you like these "Pro Solutions Pills" backlinks BTW? Ah ok I'm just jealous But I really think this is risky IMHO, I prefer relevant links...
Sellhealth has over 150 pages, 17000 backlinks and is over 6 years old! Those are the building blogs for a high ranking site!
