Las year I decided to give Theme Forest a shot by creating a template for them, unfortunately it was declined for not meeting quality standards or something like that.A couple of days ago and a one year later I've decided to give it another shot and send them a 2nd PSD design unfortunately it's been rejected as well due to not meeting quality standards. That's when i begin to wonder?what do they mean by quality standards? since both my designs were looking ok to me,the only difference from what they had accepted in the past,is that they had a web 2.0 feel and mine had a more creative/artistic approach,is this what I'm doing wrong ? The reason why I've decided to tale a more artistic approach is that the templates from Theme Forest have a tendency to reuse elements and appear somehow similar to each other. So please take a look at my template and let me know what you think about it. Link: Cloud Hosting Template
tbh, they look a bit aged / dated. The web 2.0 feel is what customers want and that's what you should give them, imo. But I'm not a graphic designer or anything so take my opinion or leave it.
@mcfox Thx for commenting, well web 2.0 feels a little to repetitive since i enjoy being creative and those web 2.0 templates feel too dull. @naser224u by altering the graphics are you referring to the backgrounds? or the whole theme including buttons, etc.
tbh i love the design . i dont know why they are being aholes but id say it should have been well snapped up by them . nice job and yeh i agree fix the logo lol :$ !!
Compare to available templates at theme forest, i am surprised they have rejected this? to me this is a good template. May be they did it by mistake. any one who buy a theme, will use his/her own logo, so this should not be a reason to reject a theme.
Awd, I'd recommend a possible change in color combinations. I believe this could help a lot. I've never been a fan of dark cool colors and white together, and while this is my personal preference, I also believes it really takes away from the content available on your website. The background is very busy, which distracts your viewers from everything that's infront of it. Also, huge bold letters are slowly fading out of the design world to make room for normal sized letters. Your font choices are not the best in this design and I believe that if you changed them to something like Helvetica or Myriad your site would look more professional. Also, I'd recommend that you don't really underline anything, and the I'd make the existing lines a bit thinner. I hope that helps. -Benjamin M. Jacques
Thanks guys for your comments,I really really appreciate it and i will consider them in my upcoming designs, and at this point I've kinda had it with theme forest so I'm going to take a break before I'll even consider submitting a new design, that if i don't start my own template website with creative/artistic designs rather then web 2.0.Anyways thanks again to the DP community for providing valuable feedback. Thanks all!
Dear the theme "Hosting" is not visible in anyone of your templates. Anyhow some of the templates are fine but they all still need redesigning.
Looks very professional to me. I liked the first one best. The color scheme is superb. Logo not so good.
