Previously searching for tabzon, our web app would bring it up, I think it may have shown the 'did you mean.. Trabzon' (place in turkey) but it has only now started auto-correcting to Trabzon by default, which has had an immediate impact on our traffic. Trabzon is a place, so fair enough but is there anything we can do to stop Google from seeing tabzon as a mis-spelling? Is it just a matter of reaching a threshold level of traffic?
Change the name to tRabzon, its easier than making G change. ............. And i didn'd find any tabzon in search. Another choice is promoting your brand and it will suggest you to people looking for the Turkish city.
Google is doing it since last couple of weeks. If you have a brand with that name, you should contact Google to fix it.
you have to gain popularity on that one.. getting your site more popular and making it more authority can help..
That's a kind of case that Google should consider, suggestion been directing the searchers into more options and site like yours is very much affected by it..
I couldn't find an appropriate email address even from that link, following their contact/support/etc links is like a going on wild goose chase....
Ok, so I started a website for my sister a few months back and she had the same issue, but by link building using the company name and getting some PR ranking some directory submissions, Google will recognise it as a brand. The problem you hare having is that Google knows very litle about your website and with so few sites linking in and the new also update that happened only 8 weeks ago, you have fallen short under their new rules. So do some link building and in a few weeks you will eb back in action. My suggestion would be to get some bulk blog post deal 30x unique written blogs with 2 anchor links one with your website name and the other with a keyword and then wait a few weeks for them all to be crawled and you will be done. Contacting Google is pointless they wont make an exception for you! you are nothing to them. Sorry but its true and if by some miracle they do, you will wait longer than it would take to sort the issue yourself.
Hmm very weird, doesn't appear to be doing it now! for me anyway, and that's also hitting it through a proxy just in case there was some caching going on. do you know where I can I find more info on that please?
Called the May Day update, I think its still rolling out actually http://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-mayday-update-a-closer-look-at-impact/21384/
