I disagree, because users can easily give negative feedback to a user to ensure that they fall below these limits hence resulting in no action being taken by the mods due to this.

Don't hold your breath. He's got bigger problems than this.

That said, I'd like to see something done about iTrader abuse. I won an auction, the seller told me he already sold the domain and offered me a domain with lower PR for the same price or a domain with fake PR, so I gave him a negative iTrader. Of course he retaliated with some unintelligible complaint, which I reported, so we'll see what happens.

Nothing most likely. You left him iTrader, he left you iTrader. End of story.

Lol.. Check out my latest (and first ever) negative iTrader..

Brief: Auction ended 20th/21st July I don't remember.. I contacted both winners asking for ad details and payment.. Never got a response off the one guy.. After 8 days I gave up hope on him replying with a "it'll be delayed" let alone payment.. So I left negative feedback.. Then THE NEXT DAY - I get a negative back.. He claims 8/9days is too little time to send a quick PM but he was fast enough to leave me reciprocated negative feedback.. Funny that, right?

    Takes the p*ss.

Yes, almost 50% of the negative iTraders on this forum are fake. Too high a figure, right?

He may have bigger problems to deal with but this is a core fundamental issue in do for both buyers and sellers. And since it seems to be the highest visited section you would think that it would get a little more attention than it does.

Shawn is a whizz at vb I'm sure it would not be too difficult for him to implement a moderated section for itrader.

Shawn you need to jump on this mate as it is only sending people away.

If something was to be done it should be strictly limited to who can use it. Such as

    1. length on forum
    2. post count
    3. reputation
    4. itraders

This ensures that the requests are only by those that have been here and gained reputation. I also like the idea of having a team dedicated to itrader fraud. Maybe they can look into the topics/transactions get both side of the stories look at emails, pms, etc and if they feel its fake tell shawn unless they have the power. I know you can give people in the admincp limited access to certain areas might be a possiblity. Of course this has to be with members who are respected here on the forum.

Something along those lines is just what I was thinking :)

It would have to be thoroughly thought through, but something has to give..

Check out my post on page one; I clearly state that a paid solution should be provided to those members who wish to dispute their negative iTrader. At

But won't it then become a thing of people who can afford to spend some extra amount as against being fair to one and all. It's justice we'd be talking about then and making it paid like some other "frilly" features facility won't be the ideal solution.. Just my 2 cents - don't have a better solution though.

The best solution! Add a payment option here on dp make it a monthly/yearly payment. What this does is pretty much like a premium member where dp helps with transactions and etc. But by purchasing this option you are purchasing guarantees that your account will be kept safe. Basically the member(s) that purchase this backup have access to an invisible section of the forum where they can post questionable itraders, they can follow certain guidelines and provide proof. This way your protecting your account and giving the staff such as shawn a little more motive to look into itraders. Of course this doesnt mean that every itrader will be removed but it will give you the chance to correct the false negatives. Members that are willing to spend the extra money on Itrader protection are dedicated to their account.

I know what you mean it does feel like an injustice, but DP already have a lot of moderators that do their job for free, making it paid will at least get it sorted. Those sellers that rely on reputation would pay to have a negative iTrader removed if it was in retaliation to a negative given or it was simply false. As suggested in my first post the cost would then be passed onto the user who falsely gave the iTrader in the first place or they will be banned a double dip justice in my book. Unless of course someone will step up and do the whole thing for free i feel that this is the only FAST solution to an ever growing problem.

As a buyer, I look into people's iTraders in great detail. If they have a couple of negative iTraders, I'll look at the thread it relates to and see how they tried to resolve the issue and whether they come across as a reasonable person.

I also look at what the iTraders were for, especially to see whether they already have iTraders for the service or product I'm looking to buy (or something similar to it).

I can't really offer any solutions which haven't yet been put forward, but if you do have any negative iTraders it's best to give a detailed and considered response in the deal thread about why you received a negative iTrader.

In short, having one or two negative iTraders is not the end of the world if you have already built up a good reputation. If someone leaves a negative iTrader which contains profanity or abusive language, then for me this is a poor reflection on the person leaving the iTrader rather than the person receiving it.

This all sounds a very sensible and well intended idea.
Reading around I think the iTrader system is one of the top gripes around here. It has flaws, which make it less credible than it should be. A real shame that. As others have said you should never rely on just iTrader when you deal with someone here - check out their length of membership, post quality, reputation and general community spiritness. I also Google the names of people I haven't dealt with previously.
