    Hi guys,
some domains show n/a in PR. Is it equal to 0? Or it's just that Firefox plugin and other resources couldn't identify it and it can be higher?

My advice would be to ignore PageRank altogether. It has nothing to do with how well your site ranks. Content + SEO = High rankings.

N/A usually ( I can not vouch for every single PR checker out there ) means that your page have not been ranked yet or have been banned.

I agree with UB Media, from my experience N/A usually refers to a domain that is not indexed at all. 0 usually means that It's indexed, but doesn't yet have any PageRank.

To answer your question, I suppose 0 would be better because at least then you're indexed :p

It's not my domains... yet... I want to buy some and checking their history... yes, they are optimized for search...
But I see that some are 0 while others are n/a. Can I say that one is better indicator than another?

N/A means they haven't attributed it yet, while 0 PR means it's junky.

Scorpiono, are you saying that pr0 is low / bad for sure, while n/a is unknown and doesn't have to be that bad? is that what you are saying? (others say opposite I hear that... but not sure if I agree about n/a means not indexed... then how do i find those pages in search engine in the first place if they are not indexed?)

PR 0 is better than NA
PR NA means no rank can provide to this domain right now its lower than 0, It may be index in google
my site has 5 pages index in google but PR in NA
Page Rank and Google indexing both are different things

Try to get first page position for keywords rather then struggling for PR. PR N/A i think mean still no index or below 0.

The N/A pagerank (grey pagerank bar) might be due to one of the following reasons:

    (1) the web page is new, and it is not indexed by Google yet,
    (2) the web page is indexed by Google, but it is not ranked yet,
    (3) the web page was indexed by Google long ago, but it is recognised
as a supplemental (Supplemental Results) page,
    (4) the web page or the whole website is banned by Google.

    Source- Google

Ofcourse, getting 0 is better than "N/A"

    spot on mate

but n/a is better than PR0 because n/a means google has not given it a page rank yet but pr0 means google has checked it out and given it a big fat 0. But this does not affect your SERPs anyway so like zomax said just forget about pr and focus on good content and dofollow backlinks with anchor text.

If you are going to buy a domain, check their registration history through whois.sc, their internet archive through archive.org, check aren't they linked from bad sites and then look for PR. Buying a domain is quite a risky game. If you, by mistake, bought a domain that is penalized; then you are going to invest your time and money that is not going to give return to you.

Simple.. If there is NA means, google PR has not gone through the domain yet. So we should wait for next google PR update
If PR 0 means, google has gone through the site but no or un-sufficient quality backlinks

Neither is better. You're looking at the Toolbar PageRank which is typically months out of date. You never know because you never know what the "actual" PR value is for a URL, and it's the "actual" PR that is used in ranking, NOT the toolbar PR. The one that shows N/A for the Toolbar PR might have an "actual" PR or 3 or 4 by now. The one that shows PR0 might actually have been deindexed and will have a N/A the next time the Toolbar PR is updated.

Typically, N/A simply means that the URL was not indexed at Google the last time they took a snapshot of their index to create the last Toolbar PR update.
