You have to make sure than if your Processor Fan is working out or not. Usually Overheating problem arises when processor fan stops working.

You shall post your thread in a computer hardware forum. After all, this forum is for marketing.

First thing is do not use laptop on bed sofa set or any thing where the ways of air going in laptop are blocked when you use it on sofa or bed the air ways will close and system will heat up and for battery do not overcharge battery when battery is full then remove the charger it will mentain battery time.

I am second that. Using one cooling pad for my compaq laptop as well since last 1 year. Just go for it.

well, my experience with Compaq was weird! Its motherboard got crashed 14 days after expiration of warrenty. I simply hate this brand, compaq CQ40 and seriously suggest others to not give this a try! BTW, as others say cooling pad is obviously something that will help you to control your laptop from heating. Besides, make sure to don't use it more often.

I too suggest buy a laptop cooling Pad and try do not use your Laptop when it is in charging mode. Use with battery support and Contact your hardware vendor because may be CPU Cooler is not working Properly.

    Thanks

Cooling pads are required for normal Laptops. Your laptop is generating heat in 15 minutes which is abnormal. Your have to give it for repair.

1.Install a program to monitor your temperatures and make sure that overheating is the problem.
2.Check if all your fans are working.
3.If you have recently taken off the cooler and put it back there is a chance that you have mounted it badly.
4.Go to a laptop service center and get the dust inside cleaned out.
5.If problems persist i suggest borrowing or renting a laptop cooling pad. If this doesn't help I don't know what will.

I suggest you use the laptop for less hours. The laptop is not made to use for the whole day. Desktop computer is more durable than laptop.

This is not true. There are offices where laptops are used instead of desktops. I myself have been using a laptop for about a year now and its been on for 90% of the time. If im not using it its downloading something. I have another laptop that is not as thrashed as my first but still is powered on and used for days at a time. My first laptop is a dell 9300 and the second is a dell 1525. The are stock with no modifications and no cooling pads or anything else.

    1) Make sure to close any unnecessary programs running that you're not using at the time
    2) Keep the laptop on a hard surface (table > rugs) with ventilation
    3) You may want to get a USB fan stand.

it may be caused that your fan is not working normally. you can open the laptop to see whether there's a dust stucking on the fan and clean it.
