Sources of backlinks - PR of the domain or PR of the page

Hi guys, question about blog / profile commenting...

So, let's assume some social networks and blogs have high PR for home pages.
But the page on which you can place a link (or new profile) has PR 0.

Then does it even matter what the PR of the domain is? Or thios links are equal to links of page with 0PR on domains with 0pr?

The PR of the site doesn't matter, it's the page where the link is located.

It is the PR of the page with the link that matters, NOT the domain.

99% of all profile links are PR ZERO and as much use as a chocolate fireguard unless you then start to build links to all the profiles as well, requiring you to find even more links.

Pr of page matters more then pr of domain... but if any site having good page rank ie page rank of domain and your link is just added on the page that is one click away from homepage then you are going to get a benefit for that... so try to get link on one click away page from homepage if site has good page rank of homepage

Try to see whether you can get some traffic from that page. If you thought you will get some traffic from those pages, go ahead.

It's all about page rank, not homepage page rank.

Any PR transfer will be at the page level. Just make sure that the page can be indexed by Google. (i.e. broken links, nofollow, etc.)

Catanich, can you please clarify about broken links and nofollows? Sorry, i can't understand how it's related to the domain, especially puzzled about nofollows...

As most have said, it's the PR of the page that links to your URL that matters... NOT the PR of the site. I think what catanich is saying is that the link itself needs to be a followed link, the source of the link needs to be indexed, and the target of the link needs to be indexable (i.e. the target of the link should NOT be disallowed by robots.txt, the target of the links should NOT contain a meta robots noindex element, etc.)

    Hi,

In my own experiences, you would mainly receive PR juice for the page your links on but the linking Domain PR would be another important factor since domains with high PR would usually have more trust from Google.

    all the best,

If the page on which your link is live has a good PR then you will be benefit from that. Else no.
It wont matter if the homepage has a great PR but your link doesn't feature on the homepage.

AirForce strikes the point again here. PR of the page is of primarily importance, but the domain PR is also important, since it shows the trust level in the eye of Google.

just submit , where you get the option.
    dont worry about PR.
You will never find social bookamarking site submission page with PR 3 or 4 or higher, its just the home page hich has higher PR.
    rest its 0 only.
