wp-ecommerce & trust symbols

I am currently using wp-ecommerce as my checkout system and I use paypal to process payments. I want my customers to feel secure when placing orders on my site. What can I do to secure the transactions, and what kind of logos/symbols can I place on my checkout page to display that security?

    Thanks!

I would do a search first to see if there are any "safe shopping" groups in your local area. Sometimes consumer groups will give you a logo if you pass a test.

Second Comodo have two free services, one is a free SSL that comes with their corner of trust logo, and they have a limited/free PCI scanning tool that you can promote the use of on your website.

Thirdly, if you want to spend money, most groups like comodo etc have paid trust logos that you can buy for a few hundred dollars a year.

Lastly, trust logos don't always need to be about security. You could put your own trust logos up for things like guaranteed delivery, or money back guarantee, or 30 days return policies etc.

To secure the transactions you would need a SSL certificate – you can get them from about $ 10 -> depending on what brand you want and how thorough the validation of your site/organization is – Domain validation, organization validation or extended validation.

SSL certificates with extended validation triggers the green address bar in recent versions of Internet Explorer – At the moment you will find a special offer at several websites offering Geotrust True BusinessID with Extended Validation for about $ 199 – it is quite a bargain.

Almost all SSL certificates come with a Site Seal to ensure your customers that the site is safe.

Besides SSL certificates you could consider VeriSign’s new Trust Seal or RatePoint.
