PayPal says to inter PAN number every time i open my account.

What is PAN Number for the Indian users and is it necessary?

If i am unable to provide PAN number, what will be the result in future?

PAN is short form of 'Permanent Account Number'. It is issued for the income tax purpose to Indian residents by its government. I guess.... Paypal would make it mandatory for Indian accounts to have the same for bank withdrawal... in future.

PAN is not really related to income tax, That's TAN. Pan is for the identity of a person to the gift. A small kid can also have a PAN card. I had it when i was 16 :)

What is TAN?? Never heard about it!
FYI... PAN number was devised for the sole purpose of income tax and it has been used extensively by IT department to track the transactions/deals of each and every individual.

It is very risky to enter anybodys Pan card number into your paypal account. The name on PAN card must match name on paypal account and bank account.

Entering a different PAN card & using your name in paypal account will get your account limited in first transaction.
Get a PAN card and you have to stick with that PAN based paypal account
