LOl...I used to have a Reliance phone long ago...I dont have it anymore cos they dont have good handsets and value added services....Yes people have experienced bad customer support and also alot of their data is always reported missing or damaged... I remember when I used to call them to opt in/out of a service and they would always say that their CRM is not working and I should call 30 mins later...Hutch has the best service and customer support in Mumbai now...you pay your bill online and the very next second you get a msg acknowledging your payment.
That would not be a proper statement to make. Coverage of different networks may differ upon areas. You might get a good BPL coverage in area A and no covergae in area B where a Hutch or Airtel would be fine. Due to lot of space/land issues in Mumbai it has been very difficult for companies to set up their Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) at various places.
Once I used the Reliance FWP service for internet connection. Though the promised speed is 115Kbps, most of the times I got only 10Kbps. Their customer care guys always repeating the excuses "Our engineers are working to address the problem. It will be resolved on xx-xxx-xxxx". But X is a variable here. Finally I surrendered the service and settled all bills. After 8 months of settlement, reliance legal team sent me a notice regarding the non-existing unpaid bill. I had to mail the copy of payment receipt and etc to make them convince. I would advise to stay away from reliance (rconnect, mobile service, etc) to avoid unwanted problems in future.
No ISP will give you the maximum speed on your Internet Conenction (atleast in India) I use MTNL broadband 256 kbps line and get a download speed of around 30-40 kbps on an avg.. this might extend to 60-80 at late nights... before this I had sify which gave me around 20-30 download speed....before that I had Dishnet which gave me less than 10. Even 2 mbps lines use at corporates will give you a download speed of 300-400 kbps.
Yes...Usually I get around 31-32 KiloBytesPerSecond while downloading. Sometimes it goes around 40+ KiloBytesPerSecond at late nights. If you are confused with the bandwidth, here is the clarification. 256kpbs = 256 * 1024 bits = 256 * 1024/8 bytes (since 8 bits = 1 bytes) = 32768 bytes = 32 kilo bytes (since 1024 bytes = 1 kilo byte) In other terms, the speed can be expressed as 32kBps. kBps and kbps are not the same.
This service is available with every plan in both prepaid and postpaid. But charge varies. In gujarat it is Rs. 10/day and In mumbai it is Rs. 15/day Just give a call to airtel customer care. They are providing all the detials. Ask them you want to sirf internet in your PC using mobile phone.
In that case if you were getting a download speed of 10 KILOBYTES for a 115 KILOBITS line then I guess it would be fine cos 115 kilobits = 14.37500 kilobytes. A little plus or minus can be expected.
seems to be a great offer. its only Rs 300/month or Rs 450/month then - but this is even better than their landline plans for unlimited internet. Is there some catch? and seems you are satisfied with their browsing speed?
It is 10 kilo bits. i.e. 1.25 kilo bytes/second though the actual should be 14.06 kilo bytes/second. Sorry if the way I represented it confuses you.
1.25KBps of speed on a 115kbps (14.37500 KB) line is way too slow... The speed shown while downloading on our browsers is KBps (KiloBytes) whereas the speed of our Internet connection is shown in kbps (kilobits). I thought you are talking about 10 KBps as you said 32 KBps in your next post.
I've been useing it for last 3 years and I am pretty much satisfied with it.. Did you resubmit the ID proof they were asking ??
I'm Indian but live in the U.K and am using a Nokia phone on Orange. However i did once buy a phone from India was a bit dodgy.
submitted them four times... and have this from them in written as well... still now working... i hope it will start after my noice reach mumbai corporate offic..
so guys day 3 of hearing Reliance offering 40K rupees for setling down the matter out of court.... Claim is for 70K... Now what do you ppl suggest for me
