I am tweaking my blog's admin section and I wanted to delete or hide the following sections permanently, for Me and well as for the registered users. The sections which I wish to delete or hide permanently are: 'WordPress Blog' and 'Other WordPress news'. You can have a look at the snapshot in the attachment and get an idea of what I wish to hide. Do I need to use any plugin or should I edit any core file in order to achieve this feat? Thanks in advance.
You can just hide them. WPMUDEV has a custom dashboard widgets plug in, it also allows you to add your own content, I use it to add video tutorials and rss feeds to my dashboard for my users....but that's the only one that I know of.
This does not work for subscribers. They get to see all the remaining dashboard widgets which I mentioned. The system is already built and running so I just can't go to WPMUDEV now.
Of course you can. It's a membership community. You can join whenever you want. I highly recommend it if you are running blog networks or Buddypress sites. I joined a few months back and it has more than paid for itself.
I found the solution from the WordPress.org support forums. I need to add a small CSS mod to the global.css in wp-admin/css. And the 'screen options' and 'help' disappears from the Dashboard.
