backlinks or Keyword Rankings on Google?

Hi,

Just wanted to ask which is now more important?

Getting a backlinks or getting your keyword on the first page of the Google SE?

I think ranking is more important than backlinks. After all, getting backlinks is to get a good ranking in Google

 

to be simple,back links will bring you no money but key word ranking will (through google traffic and then CR)

however,those two things are not comparable. back links ensure a higher ranking for keywords (though not definitely). and vice versa, key word ranking will bring you more exposure and higher possibility of being linked to.

 

Not sure how you would compare them as backlinks are what will lead you to the first page of Google.

Both are important, without backlinks you would not be ranking on Google.

 

Well the purpose of backlinks is to get you on the top of SERPS. If you are already on the top for a targeted keyword, well backlinks is not importany

 

Good number of quality back links provide SERP. If your website will have quality back links, you will get Google rankings.

I think this is the non issue . Without making backlinks you cant increase yor keywords ranking. so for better keywords postion on google you have to make good quality backlinks.

 

It's akin to asking What's more important: muscle or working out? Of course, you need to do one to get the other, but if you had to pick rankings obviously, but that can only come from backlinks and proper Onpage SEO.
