It is easy to find high PR sites and then place your links in internal pages. But what you would need is making backlinks in high PR linking pages. I knew of a tool that would auto generate keyword related pages to make blog comments and you can then place your link but i cannot remember the soft :(. In most cases even if you did find keyword related or non keyword related pages to comment on with high PR, by most chances it would be a nofollow blog.

Also, don't just do lots of comment / directory linking to your Home Page.

All your other pages and sub-pages need link-love, too.

For example, one of the links in my signature leads not to my Home Page, but here: http://copyclique.com/19dollararticles

I probably should have named the page something better for SEO help, but at least I can remember it this way. :)

I'd suggest investing in a software tool that will allow you to search for high PR pages and/or sites.

You can download seobook toolbar to view pagerank as you surf. This way you can quickly find high PR sites and fine tune your search. It will save you hours of time rather than just searching in the blind ;)

Well to start off, there's nothing easy about link building and if you're looking for the easiest way chances are you'll be disappointed.

As wheeliebin started with, the fastest way would just be to invest large amounts of money by purchasing spots on major directories. If you don't have a huge budget, your next best bet is to submit to quality free directories. After that, posting comments on dofollow enabled blogs and forums are a major help, and you can spread a large amount of links out quickly by using forum signatures and the sort. A quick search of either Google or DP will return many dofollow blog / forum lists.

Lastly, there are a vast verity of tools out there to help you. Everything from PR toolbars like diamondtools mentioned to save time, to bots that will link build for you. Be warned though, of any of these tactics are applied incorrectly it can result in you being banned from Google.

If you're serious about link building, don't go for the easiest routes. Devote some time researching the best methods, learn what has worked for others and what never works. That's what all of us here are doing in a sense, sharing experiences.

According to me, you just have to have a great site, a decent exposure and an inclining traffic. Then you only have to convince the site owner to exchange links with you if you can, buy the text link on that high PR page.
