hi there, just for the beginning, you can try shared hosting. it is cheap and can suit your needs. try companies like dreamhost, bluehost, hostgator. they are well known and quite cheap.

It depends on what you want as to which hosting company people should recommend. For example the above list of hosts are all based out of the US, however if you're targeting clients in a specific country then placing the site on a server in that country should yield better performance, usually it's more noticeable for highly interactive sites than static brochure type sites.

As far as I know none of the listed hosting companies will design and build a site for you, some will offer a site builder but again depending on what you want the quality of that may or may not be good enough for your needs. Designers such as http://www.attitude-emedia.com/ can create custom designs as well as offering hosting in various locations, but custom builds will be more expensive than using a site builder.

Designers can also be found in the services section of this forum.

webhostingtalk.com usually has a good selection of hosts with different offers as well as reviews, however remember with reviews that people are always quick complain and slow to praise.

Hope that gives you some ideas.

What kind of website and how much traffic are you expecting? Since you are starting out you should probably go with a shared web hosting plan with the option to easily upgrade to a VPS as your website grows.

You can get the domain name with the hosting company that you choose, in which case you'd just enter the domain name and assuming it's available they will register it for you and if any good will set it up to point the hosting, you can then just start using it.

Or you can register the domain name with someone such as GoDaddy and later point it to your chosen host, simply go to their website, enter your chosen domain, if it's available you'll be able to add it to the cart then follow it through to checkout adding any extras you might require.

Yes you can register a domain without a credit card but you would need to do it through a local hosting company that is willing to take your payment via Cheque, wire transfer or something of that nature.
This depends on your hosting company and where they locate their servers, if in doubt ask the company you choose where their servers are located.

A few questions of the top of my head. What is your budget? Requirements (space, bandwidth etc..)? Control Panel? How soon do you need it?

If you are thinking of bringing the page to the 1st page of google, then you are expecting good traffic. I would recommend somewhere between $10.00 - $25.00 . But if your website is new I would go with a hosting company that will let you upgrade as you grow. That is your best option.

The best thing about baltic servers is low price, good server quality and good client service. I'm using their VPS now, and I'm really happy about my choice.
