Somebody said it will take a month for check to arrive and another month to clear, I hope it isnt that lame, u may receive a check in a week and clearance in 3-4 days most. Though i cleared everything from my paypal immediately to bank as soon as i got that email.

That is a fact. You will have to wait for at least a month or more to get your payments cleared through check. This is the kind of step motherly treatment that Paypal is giving us Indians.

Being a freelance designer "PayPal" was the right options to get the payment transferred quickly. Now I guess need to think of other alternatives. Not really sure about the time-frame a check is gonna delivered in India. However, does anyone know or have clue why would RBI whipping PayPal to take these steps? Because, a few months back withdraw faciltiy was suspended for sometime. PayPal directed to it's users to provide "PAN" number. Now If a PAN number is associated with a PayPal Account and the PAN number is also associated with Bank A/C number. Then is it so difficult for RBI to get details of transaction to bank account anymore? or other RBI norms been flouted and thus RBI is after PayPal?

No one have proper information about what RBI is doing, all of the people are just guessing. The best thing would be to shift to some good alternatives like Moneybookers.com. :)

This bank account transfer facility is suspended for only 30 days and Paypal is trying very hard to resolve all issues and it will be normal after 30 days time.

well it should not matter that much.....if they(paypal) people are doing this to us...then we have our own style to handle things what we can do is
-well nowdays 40% of people have friends and relatives in other countries ..we can send money to them and they can send us here..or we can use other alternative website which send money...there was a website ..i dont remember the name..which does this...or we can buy anything from ebay(we can use our money) .....and checks are always with us..so dont worry sty concentrated on making money....and when you have it ..you will find a way to get it surly ... :)

More than enough comments in this thread. There are few things, that are out of control of PayPal, so we can not blame it.
If you were PayPal then you will surely be concerned about this fact that withdrawing this option will lead to losing customers, but still they can not do anything.

So, as someone commented above that just concentrate on making money, I agree with him. If you have money then cashing is never been a problem.
So, nothing to worry mates, cheers!!

Yes lot of inconvenience there in Indian users due to this policy of Paypal. I think this will definitely effect Paypal business too.
