Try USENET newsgroups, too - it might be an old hat nowadays but I do believe there are devoties still haniging out there. Myself, I keep checking it. Go to groups.google.com
I stick to a simple tactic i submit my url to everything articles submitting, link swaps, press release, classifieds submission, email marketing if it is free and it get my link on the web i do it. It sound ununiformed but it is the best way i can work ontop of all this i amke sure my site is in perfect SEO condition and then my aim is to be top 10 for my selected search terms.
You have to see it in the long run. I agree that in terms of inmidiat traffic it's worthless but for getting into the search engines and getting backlinks with keywords it is worth it. I have lately worked with Lazyseo.com and it made the proces of submitting a lot easier
I submitted an article to collegehumour.com and they sent me more than 20,000 uniques over 3 days. It ate up all of my bandwidth for the month because it was a photo page but I made 2 months adsense income just in those 3 days. Other sites also picked up the story from there and I got at least 15 backlinks from other sites. 20,000 uniques is a lot for me, my sites usually get 50 a day.
Try Dan Whaterver;s Technique now ... he is great ... its somehting like a 15kchallenge.com site where he is doing a great job... i bet the guy is doing a great traffic already and the site is 6 days old... (At the time of posting this). Great ideas. Some are good traffic and the best part ... LESS MONEY TO INVEST.
It completly killed bandwidth - 4.7 gigs just in one day. I made about $80 which is huge for one day for me. I'm still getting traffic now too. The smart thing to do is to put that extra money into buying some links...
adding link in profiles/signatures/social networking sites profiles may be good idea . commenting on other peoples blog might be good . Remember only comment where you think your feedback will create some value .
go to blogger.com, you can get lot of info on starting a free blog, if you want to spend some money on domain, hosting then you can have your own blog. search the forum. u can find lot of info here also
These are marketing tips , infact they are excellent tips . first of all you concentrate on them and work on those tips .. these tips are enough for newbie .... however besides tips there are conversion related tips ....that is some peoples make $100 with 100 visits on there website while other make only $10 . it depends on various factors .. Careful selection of Ads , Ads placement ,tell a friend/bookmarks/email lists .. let us see your site before we comment more on it .
This is so true...if you have a ton of traffic but it's not converting it's a waste. Selecting the topics and thus the area of ads is realy important if you want to make money. Setting up an other arcade site might be easy with the scripts availabe but it's not bringing in the money Some topics that tend to pay good are: financial, health and legal. If you can find your niche in 1 of those you should be doing ok.
Advertise your link on your "About Me" page on eBay. I don't think you can blatantly advertise, but I think it's okay if you have a link to your site which contains information/ads.
How do you get traffic from myspace? I figure that might work well for myspace or teen related sites (if at all). Do you spam their network?
I thought link exchanges were less valuable these days from a marketing perspective? Or are you getting traffic directly from those exchanged links?
