    Hello everyone!!!

First of all you have to completely analyze the Website, that means its theme, its loading time, all the internal pages and their respective URL's, robot files, meta tags, keyword analysis, content on website. In short all the ON page factors.
After this when ON page factors are done, see the ranking of keywords on Google and try to maintain the keywords on first page. For this you have to perform the OFF page factors like bookamrk submissions, directory submissions, article content and submission on article directories, blog content and submission on blog directories, classified submissions, blog commenting, SMO (all the social media marketing on sites like facebook, orkut, twitter, myspace, delicious).

    Hope this would help you.
    Thanks & Regards
    Daniel Chloe

Yes you need admin password for on page. Otherwise you can suggest all on page factors by listing those in one doc and can send them to the client for update the site.

Well, you just need to learn the basics first, then apply it to your site; but mind you, it takes time to be a good SEO. THere are lots of things to learn and consider.

I think step by step is mandatory... You may know the process how to do it but you don't where to start? and when?

Before you take any SEO jobs also look at the competition, because as much work as you do you need to know that youll be able to beat the competition so look into that too before you do any seo jobs.
