Usually i dont care for this type of thing but this is to much. I posted in a thread at SEO Chat forums, which contained a promotion for one of my directories. The first 15 posts were only annoucements and replyes to various things, nothing related to money. Last post was something like that : "we reached 6000 links, bla ... bla, the latest news is that we offer featured links for 10$" . probably the last part offended them. Ok. edit the post, warn me but this is to much : i got 2 emails, between emails i didnt even logged in to their forum. EMAIL 1 : "You have been warned for one of your posts, which violated SEO Chat Forums Rules. The reason you have been warned is because : Ban this user (Warning Type = 'PERMANENT BAN') For this violation, you have been given 10 point(s). The point(s) will remain in your account for 99999 days. After that, they will be removed automatically. The post for which you are warned can be seen here: "the threa" The admin/moderator who warned you, entered this comment: ======================================= ======================================= Your total Warning Points at the moment are: 10 point(s). If you reach the maximum of 10, you will be banned from the Forums, for 7 days." EMAIL 2 : (was supposed to be a 7 days ban ?! even i think its overreaction is their forum so whatever), arrived probably minutes later : "Dear EvcRo, We are sorry to inform you that you have received enough warning points, to be banned from SEO Chat Forums. This is a permanent ban and will last for ever .. Please reply back if you believe that this was a mistake. ---------------- SEO Chat Forums Team" So i posted "the latest news is that we offer featured links for 10$" and got a perma ban Anyway that forum isnt much so no big lose but anyway, i think this is to much.
i just send them a reply in which i call them "idiots" (sorry, cant help, i was to nervous at that time) and i told them that i un-bookmarked their forum. i wont visit that forum again
Okay, you have a point, yfs1, but it's still incredibly unreasonable, you must admit! I didn't see the actual post so I can't be 100% sure, but it doesn't sound like you did anything worth a ban.
It wasn't a particular post that got me banned. I didn't agree with the way ownership was treating both Mods and Members (Mods as free help you can take advantage of and members as just dollar signs) Getting banned (along with a ton of other people) was the best thing that happened to me. I haven't been there in months (I think I was banned a year or more ago) but last time I was the quality was so bad it was laughable. I just thought this thread was funny since there are never more then 10 people on there most times so its funny to see someone even complain about them.
Haha, cool yfs1! Screw forums like that. I love DP, I think they've got a great member philosophy and most importantly an awesome attitude towards their members. And that's why they're doing so well. RIP SEOChat
