Yes. Any science book that deals with the big bang, evolution, etc. should be banned.

Absolutely not. The religious aren't entitled to go through life without being offended just because they have fragile feelings.

Most religions claim a certain exclusivity, as if all other religions are wrong. Oftentimes, with teachings that contradict different religious belief systems. This could definitely hurt religious sentiment, therefore, all religious books would have to be banned.

If books were to be banned due to them being offensive, should people be banned as well? Ultimately removing the freedom of speech?

New question: Do you agree that all religious people who get offended at nonsense and try to oppress freedom of speech should be removed from civilized society?

new question: how do you feel when someone calling you names? or calling your mother a prostitute or calling your father a prick? freedom of speech?

if we know that what we do is hurting other feeling, we should not do it.

What if someone's mother does seem to be a prostitute; or their father IS a prick?

You can't not say things or question anything just because some people get upset way too easily. >.<'

Do you think ALL religious leaders would support banning books that offend other religions and their own? because that's basically ALL holy books.

I can't believe this thread. You can not ban books because it doesn't correlate with a religion.

There is something in how the brain works involved in book burning, it is not the religion but a biological function at work.

Breaking up the simple solution for something more complex excites the brain to reject the more difficult task and orders the body to burn the book.

To find real truth requires biological control first. Most people reject the more complex reasoning and work with other, similar zombies, in the prevention of new ideas or questioning the existing ones.

The zombies ruling the world will destroy it for everyone.....

The world should be like a tv with only one remote and we all have to watch the same thing. Sounds fun.

Why do religious people always try to make other people live like them, why can't they just leave the rest of us the fuck alone.

I think that anything that hurts "religious sentiment" should be highly encouraged, because "religious sentiment" is a nice word for something that actually means: fear of criticism.

As for "new" question - freedom of speech has nothing common with insulting somebody . To insult is just a crime.
And what about your avatar and your words?
    ?

Does this apply to everyone, or just your religion? For instance, if a jew happened to find your religious text offensive on religious grounds should the quran be banned?

Of course, your sentiments aren't worth shit considering you have an avatar depicting a national flag being burned, something which it obviously done with the explicit intention of offending people.

I personally find your religious text to be an abhorrent piece of fiction comparable to the nazi manifesto filled with nothing but primitive tribal hatred, justification for the oppression of women and instructions to abuse children. If my views offend you i guess you'll just have to be offended.
