How can I shift my PayPal account from India to UAE. I'll be in UAE for a long time. Can I withdraw funds to my UAE bank account?

What I have head is that RBI is not happy with the Purpose Code procedure and now PayPal has to come up with something new in order to make online transaction.

As far as cheque are concerned I think it would be great if PayPal send cheque via courier and charge us $2-3 for that.

    IMO = In my opinion.

Btw, a word is misspelt in your sig . Should be : "Believe" not "Belive"

I got the mail from Paypal that from 1st August 2010 they are going to stop Bank transfer for Indians. here is the mail :

    Dear XXXXXXX,

In accordance with regulatory instructions, we would like to notify you about a change in our withdrawal functionality in India starting on August 1, 2010. At present you can request for either an electronic or cheque withdrawal of funds from your PayPal account if you are an India user.

From July 29, 2010 onwards, you will only be able to request for a cheque withdrawal of funds from your PayPal account.

While we are working hard to restore the electronic withdrawal service, in the meantime, we are bringing this matter to your attention so that you can plan your future withdrawal activities accordingly.

To request for a cheque withdrawal:
Log into your PayPal account, click on 'Withdraw'.
Click on the 'Request a cheque from PayPal' link.
Enter the withdrawal amount and select your mailing address, then click 'Continue'.
Click 'Submit' to confirm your request.
In order to help you with this change and until further notice, we will refund the $5 USD cheque withdrawal fee to you for cheque withdrawals made on July 29, 2010 onwards.

For any questions, please log into your PayPal account and click 'Contact Us' at the bottom of the page.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused from this change in our withdrawal functionality. We will provide ongoing updates to you here. We thank you for your attention and patience as we work tirelessly to resolve this situation as quickly as possible.

    Thank you,

    The PayPal Asia Team

    Sad news again..

Even if they can re-instantiate "Withdraw to VISA Credit Card" option, I'll be happy..

I'm pretty much skeptic that checks will reach me, and in the odd case they did, they will need a few more days to clear.. :(

Yes, so once you have earned a certain amount, it will be several days before you actually SEE the money in your bank. More likely each check-cycle will be around a month. I can't imagine how I will manage that !!

They cant keep dragging this issue with RBI for ever.
I think, RBI really wants to control money inflow this time to contain inflation.

I just withdrawn all my funds to bank 2day lets see what happens, weather they are going to pay back to PP account or depositing into bank, as they stated that electronic funds will not work from 29th, i guess my withdrawal will work and money will reach banks safely :D
