    Hi,

When I virus scan my client computers I tend to use a few different anti-virus products on the same machine (though uninstalling afterwards - as resource hoggers).

    1. Malwarebytes
    2. Security Essentials
    3. AVG Free
(and maybe) 4. Trend online scan

I am tech support and remove lots of viruses from laptops and desktops every day.
One thing I have noticed is that there isn't a single product that can remove every single infection.

The only AV product I leave running is AVG free.

    Thanks,

So you mean you prefer Malwarebytes over MSE? And what do you mean by "The only AV product I leave running is AVG free."?

Ok I removed ESET Smart Security, and installed MSE around 1.5 weeks ago.

I have to say it is really Fantastic! It's fast, doesn't hog the system, doesn't slow the system down, and is truly 'set it and forget it'.

I am glad I switched over to MSE. I would recommend it to everyone.

What I mean is, I run a FULL scan with Malwarebytes, but the free version does not have a "real-time" scanner running in the background to detect malicious activity while the user is using the computer.

That is why I leave AVG running on the computer, as this software does have a "real-time" scanner.

BTW, you should only really have one "real-time" scanner running at a time as otherwise they start fighting each other to kill the infection which can drag down performance.

So, sometimes I might use Malwarebytes and scan, Security Essentials and scan (then uninstall or turn off real-time scanner), and AVG to scan a machine for infections.

    Hope this makes sense.

I tried it a year ago.

I liked its simple interface and usability.

It's a good software. I can't recall why I came back to Kaspersky, though.

    Must have had some bugs.

If you wanna change your Avast, which I never used, you should go for the real deal: Kaspersky's Internet Security.

Yes it will require a genuine operating system. That's the only requirement though.
